Overwatch is a multiplayer first-person online shooting game developed and published by Blizzard Entertainment. It was released for Windows, Xbox One and PlayStation 4 on May 24, 2016, and for Nintendo Switch on October 15, 2019. It is a multiplayer game with no campaign mode.

In Overwatch, there are two teams, each with six players. Each play can select from a pool of over 30 characters known as ‘heroes’. Each hero has a unique skill set that defines their attributes like health points, movement speed, primary attacks, their active and passive skills, and their Ultimate, which needs to charged after use by healing or damaging enemy.. Every hero has a unique play style that is divided into three general roles: Tank, Damage and Support.

Tank heroes are good at absorbing incoming damage. Damage heroes are best for doing a large amount of damage to the enemy. The Support heroes usually stay behind Tank and Damage heroes to support them by healing or providing other kinds of buff.

At launch, the game only had a casual mode. Later on, competitive ranked mode, arcade mode, and player-controlled server browser were added to the game. With the addition, Blizzard Entertainment has released many new characters, maps, and cosmetic items for Overwatch.

The objective for players is to work together to secure or defend control points on the map or escort a payload across the map in a limited amount of time.

The latest addition and upcoming addition to Overwatch consists of new heroes and modes with meta changes.
