The M249 Light Machine gun has always been a rather underwhelming weapon in CSGO. Some even consider it worse than the Negev, which in and of itself isn’t good for competitive either.
LMG’s in CSGO can’t really compare to other Machine Guns, but that doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t have weapon skins for them. Luckily, nearly all M249 skins are pretty cheap, and if you’re looking for the cheapest options, we already have a list of the cheapest M249 skins.
Impact Drill
The M249 Impact Drill was added to CSGO on the 26th of May, 2015. It was released as part of Operation Bloodhound, and currently starts at $0.60 on the Steam Market.

- Description: The great equalizer
- Cheapest-Highest Steam Price: $0.60(BS) - $3.60(FN)
- Drops From: N/A
- First Appeared: 26 May 2015
The Impact Drill is one of the simplest skins that you can have for a weapon.
This is mainly due to the color scheme, but also because of how the colors are distributed. The navy blue works perfectly with the vibrant yellow, and it gives off somewhat of an industrial grade vibe.
Conditions for this skin are a bit more expensive when compared to other M249 skins like the Contrast Spray skin.
System Lock
The M249 System Lock was added to CS:GO on the 8th of January, 2015. It was released as part of the Chroma Collection, and currently starts at $0.12 on the Steam Market.

- Description: Coverfire never looked so good
- Cheapest-Highest Steam Price: $0.12(BS) - $0.70(FN)
- Drops From: Chroma Case
- First Appeared: 8 January 2015
This skin design goes for a more futuristic style, and we can’t deny that it looks absolutely awesome. The reason why this skin is so popular mainly stems from the color scheme - who doesn’t like a mash of black and vibrant red. All conditions are pretty cheap, but we’d still recommend purchasing this skin in Minimal Wear if you’re on a budget.
Warbird
The M249 Warbird was added to CS:GO on the 18th of November, 2019. It was released as part of the Shattered Web Collection, and currently starts at $0.20 on the Steam Market.

- Description: This old bird deserves a rest
- Cheapest-Highest Steam Price: $0.20(BS) - $1.20(FN)
- Drops From: Shattered Web Case
- First Appeared: 18 November 2019
The Warbird is a pretty cool skin, as it’s designed after every typical American war movie. The design alone is enough of a reason for you to buy this, let alone the color scheme. We’d recommend going with the cheapest option when it comes to this skin, as it doesn’t really matter which condition it’s in - it’ll look awesome regardless. You can even sometimes argue that it looks better in worse conditions.
Aztec
The M249 Aztec was added to CS:GO on the 18th of October, 2019. It was released as part of the CS20 Collection, and currently starts at $0.52 on the Steam Market.

- Description: Never trust a rope bridge
- Cheapest-Highest Steam Price: $0.52(BS) - $1.12(FN)
- Drops From: CS20 Case
- First Appeared: 18 October 2019
Counter-Strike’s history is filled with memorable maps that made the franchise what it is today, and Aztec from CS 1.6 is one of those maps. Veteran CS players will love a skin like this, and mostly all M249 skins have this nostalgic look. It looks very similar to the Emerald Poison Dart skin, so if you like the Emerald Poison Dart, then you might like this skin as well.
Prices largely depend on CS:GO Skin conditions and stickers. If you want to buy or sell skins, we recommend our partner’s website called Skinport. It's a secure CS:GO skin selling and buying site with excellent 5-star reviews, and you can sometimes find cheaper skins on their site.
All in all, we hope our list of the best M249 skins helped you pick out a skin for this LMG. The M249 might not seem worth having a skin for, but you never know if you’ll want to use it whilst trolling.
