Hattori stats

1

Hattori is a high speed and decent dexterity legend. Her low defense and strength make her a less forgiving legend, meaning if you get punished, you will pay a higher price. The stance that we will be using for hattori is defense, because it decreases the speed stat, unlike the strength.

Basics of Brawlhalla combos

There are two types of attacks: light and signature

2

Light attacks are used for approaching an enemy.

3

Signature attacks are used for finishing an opponent.

Every legend has the same light attacks (if they have the same weapon), but signatures are different for every legend. Signatures are also referred to as sigs.

Hattori Best Combos, Strings and Signature Moves

Hattori’s weapon set consists of the sword and spear, these weapons are beginner friendly and they do have some great combos.

Hattori’s sword signature moves and special tactics

Sword > sSig

This sig covers a solid amount of area around Hattori while coming out at a decent speed. The first part catches opponents while dealing some damage, which then sends them into the second hit which flips them back and sends them flying horizontally. Due to Hattori’s weak strength this move kills at a bit later percentages, and you should try to hit it at a part of the stage that is further away from the ledge because of the flip. You can use it on stage to trick your opponents, for combo finishing and you can also pair it with a gC. Finishes opponents at 150%.

Sword > nSig

Hattori’s sword nSig covers a large area while also dealing damage and knocking opponents off-stage. It is also fast and you can almost instantly input a dash right after it. Comes out and also ends fast. You can use it for edge guarding, off stage, combo finisher etc. Launches opponents vertically.

Sword > dSig

This sig covers a good amount of area even though the hitbox doesn’t stretch out through the full signature. Deals good damage and comes out at decent speed. Hattori does a backwards flip before executing the signature which can aid you in tricking your opponent. Can be used for edge guarding end a string etc. Finishes an opponent at ~150%

Best Hattori sword combos and strings

dLight > Rec

The classic. Deals the most damage out of all the true combos. And is also a kill confirm that kills around 160%. Use this combo if you are in the middle of the stage, where the side-air won’t kill. Possible at all percentages.

dLight > sAir

Also a classic. Doesn’t deal as much damage as the recovery combo but it gets the job done. It kills a bit later then the recovery version, even if at the edge, but if hit at the edge your opponent is sent flying all the way to the blast zone, meaning he has to get back to the stage which gives you a way easier position to confirm the kill if somehow the enemy doesn’t die from the side-air. That is the advantage of the side-air. Possible at all percentages.

sLight > nLight

This is a string. It is the most used one as well. It gets the job done and racks up solid damage. Also can lead into an edge-guard if landed in the middle of the stage. It has a smaller dodge window than the dLight version which gives it a bit of an advantage. You can use it if you are confident in your edge-guarding and predicting skills, or just on stage for safe damage. Possible at all percentages.

sLight > dLight

This is also a string. You can use it if you want to follow up into a true combo kill after the dLight, or for racking up damage. We recommend using this one at higher percentages to get a kill confirm because of the 2 additional dodge windows. Possible at all percentages.

dAir > gC > nLight

This is a string. You can use it after a dAir hit and considering the nLight is a long lasting move, if your opponent neutral dodges, you will still hit them. You can then land into some other more powerful strings.

Possible up to 90%, after that you can use the nSig instead of the nLight, and the reason the nLight is better at earlier percentages is because it follows up into other strings.

Hattori’s spear signature moves and special tactics

Spear > nSig

High vertical coverage sig. Good as a combo finisher and to catch mid-air opponents.Finishes an opponent at ~140%

Spear > sSig

Also a good sig. Covers a decent range and comes out relatively fast. You can pair it with a slide or a gC for unexpected value. Finishes an opponent at ~160%

Spear > dSig

This is a pretty slow sig. Despite how it looks it doesn’t cover much range., except one one frame where it does cover a semi part of the smoke.Finishes an opponent at ~140%

Best Hattori spear combos and strings.

sLight > dLight

This is one of the most simple spear combo-string. It can also follow up to some more complicated reads. It has a dodge-window of 2 frames or more, depending on how fast you can do a follow up dlight. Possible at all percentages

dLight > sAir

This is a combo. Good for racking up damage and is also a kill confirm. You can also use it as a follow up for the previous combo. It is relatively easy to input, but positioning is key. Possible at all percentages.

sAir > nLight

Great combo after an aerial hit. Racks up damage and gives you good positioning. After the 80% the combo is no longer doable so you will have to do dodge reads, preferably with the sLight instead of the nLight considering the sLight can lead into more strings.

dLight > nAir

Another follow up option after dLight, however it is not true. It doesn’t kill like sAir, but it does hit neutral dodges, so it is a good option if your opponent keeps neutral dodging. Use this variation so that you can continue the string because the sAir gives too much knockback.

nAir > gC > nSig

Great for racking up damage and reading neutral dodges. Also a great kill confirm considering it kills at 120% if you hit it. Possible at all percentages as well so it is a superb combo.

sLight > dLight > gC > dLight > sAir

Longest string on our list. After the sAir you will get an advantageous position over your opponent, they will have to recover to get back into the ring. You can mix up the dLight with nLight or the sAir with nAir, Rec to get a kill finish etc. Lots of variations, be sure to experiment in-game not every string is compatible with every scenario.

Hattori Tips and Tricks

Spear’s ground pound and recovery cover a large spinning area, do not be afraid to use both moves, but be careful not to spam them because they are very predictable. Hattori also has relatively fast sigs, so you can use them to your advantage to outsmart your opponents.
