Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception is the third installment of the famous Uncharted series of video games. It was released in 2011, and is one of the best Uncharted games in the series. Uncharted 3 came out during the golden years of the series, with Uncharted 4 and Lost Legacy eventually wrapping it up as a whole.

2PlayerProductions has an informative video that explains the entire development process in detail. It's absolutely inspiring to see how their games are developed, and to which lengths Naughty Dog went to breathe life into Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception. Although it was under a lot of pressure to meet the success of its predecessor (Uncharted 2), it still went on to perform quite well.

The Last of Us

The Last of Us Cover

Nothing can begin to describe the impact that The Last of Us had on the gaming community. Released in 2011, The Last of Us shocked audiences with its unrivaled storytelling aspects and it got a lot of bonus points for being set in a post-apocalyptic world. Not only that, but the entire concept surrounding the game had players immediately intrigued. It would go on to become one of the best single-player games ever, competing with games like Red Dead Redemption and God of War.

The Last of Us received honors at the end of the fiscal year from many gaming journalists and game award ceremonies. It also went on to receive multiple Game of the Year awards.  Lastly, it managed to sell 1.3 million copies in the first week, and 17 million by 2018. That is not including the remastered and remade versions that came later as a result of the first rendition's success.

The Last of Us Giraffe Encounter

As production on The Last of Us started, Naughty Dog was already finished with Uncharted 2, and they had to split their development teams to work on both The Last of Us and Uncharted 3. This was a big risk, but it eventually turned into an even bigger reward at the end of the day.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt GOTY Edition

CD Projekt Red is revered for making the most fleshed-out action roleplaying games out there, and The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt was their biggest game yet. It saw us playing the character of Geralt, an enigmatic and misunderstood monster slayer. The story along with the concept had players hooked from the start, and it introduced people to the Witcher books as well.

The entire universe is based on Slavic mythology and takes inspiration from a lot of Central and Eastern European folklore. It saw colossal success after its release, and it continues to outperform many other similar games years later. The game plays flawlessly, side quests are everywhere, and the story is unlike anything we've seen in other games.

The Witcher 3 Gameplay

To top it all off, it also won multiple Game of the Year awards shortly after its release. It got two DLC expansions: Hearts of Stone and Blood & Wine. These expansions also saw unprecedented success, which is why a GOTY version featuring all of the expansions and downloadable content was released in 2016. Other future brands of publishers should really look into making games like The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.

That concludes our list of the best games for PlayStation any gamer should own. If you're someone who regularly buys PlayStation games and other Sony products, then you should want to learn more about the PlayStation Visa card, which grants you with excellent rewards for your purchases.

Horizon Zero Dawn

Horizon Zero Dawn Cover

Published by Sony Interactive Entertainment, Horizon Zero Dawn pleasantly surprised PlayStation fans across the world. It was released in 2017 as a PS4 exclusive, and follows the story of a hunter trying to navigate a world that's full of huge machines out of Star Wars Jedi. It falls into the same category of games as The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, but some have argued that it would've been better in a more strict or semi-open world setting gameplay-wise.

An original game and concept like this were well-received, and people are still playing this years later. Although some aspects of the game did receive heavy criticism, casual fans loved it, and it went on to sell 20 million copies worldwide. It did get an expansion and a sequel, both of which were liked by the general public.

Lastly, what mainly drew people to this single-player game was the stunning geography and visuals. Many communities were exclusively built around the visuals, and the sequel followed up on even better visuals. It did eventually get released for PC, broadening its already large player base.

That's all for our list of the best single-player games for PlayStation. Other great games like the Final Fantasy VII remake should've also made it on the list, but we could only handpick a few of the best games out there.
