How to fix your High Ping in ARK in a few clicks

Playing ARK Survival (don't confuse it with playing Lost Ark) in dedicated servers can be painful if you don't know how to deal with high latency issues. And that's why, in this article, we'll show you 6 ways for you to fix any High Ping issues you might be facing in ARK Survival. Before applying these tips, you must know how to show your Ping in ARK first.

Method #1: Reboot your Router and Modem

The most effective way to solve multiple problems related to your internet connection is to reboot your modem and router devices. Doing this can also fix the High Ping you are dealing with when playing ARK Survival or any other game, including Crossfire.

But rebooting your devices can be tricky if you don't know how to do it properly. Doing a decent power cycle can avoid the need for rebooting your devices all the time you have a network connection issue. Here's a step-by-step guide to how you can do it:

  1. Unplug both your modem and router from the power source.
  2. Wait approximately 20 seconds, and plug just the modem back on its power source.
  3. Wait 90 seconds more, and now plug the router back on its power source.
  4. Wait for all green lights to be on before testing your connection.
  5. Now, test if your connection is working and go back to play ARK to see if your Ping has improved.

One thing to notice is that if you keep having heavy internet connection issues, you should contact your internet provider to see if these kinds of issues are occurring because of problems on their end. If the problem is not on their end, you should consider changing your router or modem devices.
