Platinum League of Legends

Platinum is the fifth rank in League of Legends. While this rank is just in the middle, out of 9 ranks, that doesn’t mean that the players within this tier are mediocre. In fact, gamers who are in Platinum are among the best that League of Legends has to offer. They have very few flaws in their game, and if we had to point something out, that would be their teamfight inconsistency. This tier is between Gold and Diamond.

Platinum is divided into 4 divisions:

  • Platinum IV
  • Platinum III
  • Platinum II
  • Platinum I

Is Platinum good?

If you’re a Platinum player, you are one of the top 11,7% of all League of Legend gamers (based on your preferential mode). If you were in a room with 100 other League of Legends players, you would be most likely able to defeat about 88 of the other players.

A Platinum player is just a notch above a Gold player. That means guys in this category know everything about the game in terms of mechanics and strategy. They are well versed in numerous champions, roles, and they can seamlessly switch between them. Perhaps the main issue they have has to do with teamfighting, and decisions made before teamfights.

The Platinum tier is very good by all accounts. There is very little a player in this tier unable to do, and most of them would make for entertaining streamers. Furthermore, if you need League of Legends coaching, these guys can do a great job.

How many hours do you need to play LOL to become Platinum?

Getting to the Platinum tier will be unattainable for many people. As mentioned, a person will need to know all the champions and to play them at a very high level. So, even minor updates, and hero buffs/nerfs, can completely derail your rating.

For a person to get to Platinum, he or she needs between 1,000 to 1,500 hours on playing League of Legends. In a lot of ways, your talent will determine if you are able to reach this and the following Diamond tier. By applying some of the practices from the following section, you might be able to do just that.

Ways to improve from Platinum

Getting from Platinum to Diamond can be an arduous process.

First of all, you will have to set aside a certain number of hours each day for playing League of Legends. While there are gamers who can play it occasionally and still remain within Diamond or a higher tier, most of us need constant work.

Among numerous things that you can do to go from Platinum tier to Diamond rank, here are some of the most important ones:

  • You will need to know your precise role during every teamfight. Getting into the fray too soon or too late can condemn the whole team.
  • Discipline is paramount in this rank. Whether we’re talking about laning or teamfights, you need to be very careful as to what you’re doing. Furthermore, you need to execute these things at the highest level. Going away from it will result in a disaster.
  • Put a lot of emphasis on mental focus. Ragging is something you should’ve addressed in lower categories of the competition, but is something that occurs even to the top-tier players. Ragging and bad attitude are especially condemning at this level, as Platinum games require a lot of mental focus from all the participants.
