PUBG has a lot going for it and like all online games, there are different types of currency found here. These systems work similarly to most other multiplayer games and should be familiar to anyone who has played an online game before. All versions of PUBG have some type of currency in the game for players to earn and spend in the game. Following the standard pattern of many online free-to-play games, PUBG also contains a premium currency which means players need to pay real money for a digital currency to spend in the game.
What is the In-Game Currency in PUBG?
There are several main types of currency in PUBG and the ones you see depend on the version of the game you’re playing. Not all versions of the game contain the same currency and some are exclusive to specific platforms which can make it a bit tricky. They all use Battle Points (BP) but they might also have another slightly different currency.
Most of the ‘extra’ currencies don’t matter too much. PUBG Mobile has another one called Ace Gold (AG) for example which is mostly used for cosmetics and is a premium currency. This isn’t a necessary thing to purchase or use. This is the same for the G-Coin currency exclusive to Xbox versions of PUBG. The G-Coin currency is a premium currency which cannot be earned through the game and is only used for unlocking cosmetic character skins.
While microtransactions do exist in PUBG, they aren’t a necessity. They’re only for cosmetic items and have no real effect on the game so there’s no need to feel forced to buy any premium currencies here. The PC version of the game also has access to the Steam Marketplace so users can sell and buy items in PUBG allowing players to bypass the basic currency in the game and purchase extremely rare items.
The main currency across all PUBG versions is called BP which can only be earned through the game. It’s essentially the ‘gold’ for this game and is a style of currency seen in all online games for players to earn and use in the game.
What is BP?
Battle Points (BP) is the standard currency in PUBG which is earned by playing the game and completing matches. There’s a variety of ways to earn BP through the game and some special events too. While there are different methods to collect more of this currency, just playing the game regardless will give you more of it.
How much BP you earn from games is supposed to follow this simple calculation:
Kills + Damage Dealt + Final Rank + Play Time = Reward
It’s uncertain which parts play a larger role for BP gains but doing well in all areas will guarantee a high BP gain from that match. This also means that you don’t need a lot of points in each area every game so you can continue to collect BP regardless of how the game goes.
What is L-Coin?
PUBG Lite has an exclusive currency called L-Coin or LC. This is a premium currency which can only be bought from the store for real money. It works alongside BP which is the main currency of PUBG Lite and works the same as all the other versions. The currency is spent on a few premium items in the game which have no real effect on the gameplay.
What is G-Coin?
Similar to the one above, G-Coin is a premium currency that players can use to purchase cosmetics in the store. This is a console exclusive money system for the Xbox and PlayStation ecosystems to monetise the console versions of the game. G-Coin can only be purchase in the game though it can also be bought online from the Xbox Store and the PlayStation store websites or on the console stores.
What are the PUBG Mobile currencies?
The currency systems for PUBG Mobile are a little complex. It does use BP as the main currency which is earned through completing games like normal. The other currencies in the game are accessories which allow users to purchase cosmetic items and are not a necessity to earn or purchase.
Ace Gold or AG is the new currency made for PUBG Mobile as an alternative to Unknown Cash or UC when making purchases in the store. AG can be used to purchase certain cosmetic items and if you don’t have enough of this currency then it’s possible to use the UC to make up the difference. To get the Unknown Cash currency, users mostly need to purchase it from the store using real money. However, the AG currency can be earned through various free methods.
The last currency currently in the game is Silver Fragments. These are used for purely cosmetic items and can be used to purchase Premium and Classic Scrap Coupons. Buying cosmetic items with this will permanently attach them to your account. Silver Fragments can also be collected for free making them a good option for those unable to purchase premium currencies for cosmetics.
Why do the console and Mobile versions have a premium currency?
Unlike the PC version, there is no Steam Marketplace for these versions of the game. So the developers have opted to monetise the game using optional premium currencies designed for each version. This is why they keep the basic BP currency but have unique extra digital monetary options to accommodate the platform. Users on Steam can trade or sell items and selling these items through the Steam Marketplace does give the developers a percentage of the money. This doesn’t exist for console or mobile which is why premium currencies exist on these platforms.
How to earn PUBG BP?
There are a variety of ways to earn BP which are simple and earning more of this currency doesn’t require much effort. It’s so easy to gather that you don’t need to focus on collecting more Battle Points unless there’s something expensive you want to buy. These methods for collecting BP are straight forwards and easy to forget about as a result
The amount of BP gained depends on your actions in the game. There are various ways to boost how many Battle Points you gain during games but becoming more skilled at the game greatly improves your gains.
As mentioned above, this is the calculation used by the game to decide your Battle Points game: Kills + Damage Dealt + Final Rank + Play Time = Reward.
Getting kills and dealing damage will give you more BP than just surviving for a long time, however. We advise exploiting the bots available in each version of the game as those are easy to kill and perfect for grinding BP.
Logging into the game every day will grant you BP just for turning the game on. There’s no need to play a game to earn these log-in daily points so this is great to do even if you lack the time to play the game.
There are different types of missions in PUBG which come with different rewards. Take a look at the right and bottom part of the main screen to see which ones are available to you and see what the rewards are. To receive the BP for them, remember to click on the “Collect” attached to that mission on the home page once it’s completed.
Different events in the game can have all kinds of rewards during them. The specifics can vary for each one though most do offer BP as a reward during them.
Receive BP from Friends
Sending gifts to friends is a possibility and there’s a limited number of gifts that can be sent to friends each day. It’s possible to send and receive 50 BP a time which is great to help out friends.
Connect to Social Media
It’s not a necessity but some versions of PUBG allow you to connect you social media accounts to the game. This gives you a one time BP gain for each account you link the game too.
Some crates in PUBG also include BP and as the crates in PUBG can change fairly often, it’s a good idea to check which ones are available for your platform. Some events can some with special crates as well which are limited edition and contain different items inside including BP.

How to Earn PUBG Mobile currency?
PUBG mobile has various currencies available in the game: Unknown Cash, Ace Gold and Silver Fragments. Each one is earned differently however, they can be slowly earned for free.
Ace Gold (AG) and Unknown Cash (UC)
These two currencies are very similar and they can also be used together to purchase items. AG was introduced as an alternative to UC so both digital currencies are rewarded in the same way and through the same means. These are the methods for earning them in the game:
- Unlocking Achievements
- Winning games
- Daily and Weekly bonuses for logging in
- Royale Pass offers them when you reach certain levels
Ace Gold is harder to earn due to it having special perks. Seasonal events give players a choice of reward between AG or UC however, there is a clear exchange rate. Players will be given more AG from rewards than UC if they select that option. It’s currently thought that 1 UC is worth 7 Ace Gold so while users will be given more AG as a reward, players need to earn a lot more before it can be spent.
This is the special free currency in PUBG which can be used to purchase cosmetics to be permanently locked to your account. There are other uses for it but Silver Fragments are mostly used for cosmetics. Earning free Silver Fragments is relatively simple:
- Open crates
- Play ranked and reach the higher rankings
- Use BP to purchase it

Silver Fragments in PUBG Mobile can also be spent on Premium and Classic Scrap Coupons. Once a player has collected enough of them, they can be combined to make crate coupons so users can make a free one to open. For PUBG Mobile, AG and UC and can be used in the same way though they have different exchange rates in the store.
PUBG BP is very easy to collect and spend in the games. Players only need to go to the Shop and find the Crates section. Soldier Crates can be purchased there which will give a randomised gear drop. Unwanted gear can also be dismantled to redeem coins at the Limited-Time store while any items you want can be used to customise your appearance.
PUBG has a lot of digital currency options in the game but the single consistent currency across all games is BP.
