Is 22bet Legit?
22bet is a legit betting operator and a well-known online esports betting site. Even though its reputation is stained, here are four reasons why we believe 22Bet is legit:
- 22bet is operated by TechSolutions (CY) Group Limited (legit business in Cyprus)
- This esports bookie is licenced and regulated by the Government of Curacao (8048/JAZ2017-067)
- According to similarweb, 22Bet averages over three (3) million visitors per month
- 22Bet has been operating since 2017
22bet is a legit online esports betting site and bookmaker, and there are many things that would confirm that. It has been around since 2017; it owns a Curacao (8048/JAZ) betting licence and is one of the most-visited online betting sites in the world.
Admittedly, there are some red flags about 22bet, which we will touch on below, but we can confidently say that 22bet is a legitimate online bookmaker.
Welcome Bonus and the best Promo Codes
22Bet has a very generic welcome bonus any new customer can take advantage of, and it comes in the form of a 100% matched deposit, up to €122. But while the bonus is straightforward, you should know a few things about it.
- You do not need a bonus code to activate it.
- Min-Max deposits are at 1€ - 122€.
- You need to select the bonus account where the bonus will be credited (it can't be changed).
- Before you can withdraw the bonus, you need to complete a 5x rollover requirement in accumulator bets (with at least three selections at odds of 1.40 or higher).
- The bonus must be claimed within 7 (seven) days.
- You meet the requirements by betting on esports or sports
How To Claim 22Bet Welcome Bonus & Bonus Code
To claim 22bet's welcome bonus, you don't need a bonus code, nor are you required to do any extra work – 22bet does everything for you. All you need to do is follow these three steps:
- Register at 22bet
- Make a deposit (max €122)
- Enjoy your welcome bonus
Just remember to follow the bonus requirements and complete them within the set time. Although 22bet does not specifically state it, you can complete the bonus requirements by wagering on esports, and you can use the bonus funds for esports betting.
22bet Bonus & Promotions (4.5/5)
22bet's welcome bonus is not the best you will find, but it's still something, and you can't complain about getting a free €122 to bet with. But if you're not satisfied with the welcome bonus, you will be happy to hear that 22bet offers a plethora of other bonuses and promotions for you to take advantage of.

These include a nice selection of casino and sports bonuses such as Friday reload bonus, accumulator bet boosts, accumulator of the day, rebate bonus, and bonus for a series of losing bets. And on the other side, there are three casino bonuses such as 1st deposit prize, weekly race, and daily free spins.

We could not find any special bonuses and promotions for esports, but you can use the acca boosts and other bonuses with esports, so that's good.
All in all, 22bet does a fine job offering goodies to its customers and plenty of them, so we have no issues giving it a high rating. But since it could do a better job offering esports-specific bonuses – such as Thunderpick – we're bringing down the rating to 4.5/5.
Reputation & Safety (1.5/5)
22bet's reputation is far from great, and if the online reviews are to be trusted, 22bet is anything but a good bookmaker. We looked through many online forum posts about 22bet, and we found numerous complaints about how 22bet did not pay out the winnings and instead blocked accounts that wanted to withdraw large sums of money.

We found the exact same complaints on online review sites, where 22bet has a 1.7/5 review score (same as FezBet), with nearly 85% of all ratings giving it one star. That's a concerning figure, but it might be the correct one based on how many people complained about the same issue.

Hearing about how 22bet has scammed its users might seem weird, knowing that it owns a betting licence and is hence a legitimate esports betting site and bookie. However, 22bet owns a Curacao betting licence 8048/JAZ, which might be the most reputable Curacao betting licence, but it still provides little to no security to its users.
We're a bit sceptical about trusting people that they did not receive their payments, but it is possible. However, we can be certain that 22bet is known for quickly limiting accounts – similar to 1xbet, which isn't surprising because 22bet is a white label of 1xbet.
We're giving 22bet a 1.5 rating just because it is still a major bookmaker, and it does seem highly unlikely for it to be operating for so long had it been scamming its users. But there are enough red flags for us to advise you to proceed cautiously.
Esports Markets and Odds & Betting Features (4.5/5)
22bet has many issues, but it does a fine job with its esports betting offer. If you are looking for esports betting markets, make sure to click on the "Pre-Match" to gain access to all available esports – otherwise, you will be redirected to the in-play section.

On 22bet, we could find esports betting markets for League of Legends, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, Dota 2, Rainbow Six, Valorant, KOG, and StarCraft, so it's fair to say that 22bet has most of the most popular esports titles covered. There's also a good selection of leagues you can bet on, so we have no problem with the offer whatsoever.
The odds quality is average, meaning it's not terrible, nor is it exceptionally good. We compared 22bet's esports odds to GG.Bet and found that the prices were fairly similar, so we don't have anything bad to say about that either.

There are enough betting markets, and as already alluded to above, 22bet also offers in-play esports betting with live streams and a solid offer of in-play markets. All in all, 22bet does a good job covering esports, but its offer of bet types could be slightly better (on some esports), so we're taking half a point away.
LoL Betting
If you want to bet on League of Legends, you won't be disappointed with 22bet. It has everything you would want in an esports bookie. It covers all major and even some minor tournaments and has enough market depth to allow you to bet on whatever you want. It might not be as good as GG.Bet, but 22bet does a fine job covering League of Legends.

Note that games in smaller events won't have as many bet types available, but that's normal, so we have no problem with that. The odds quality is also solid but definitely not the best, so it might be wise to have accounts on more esports bookies so you can price shop and bet with the best odds.
Dota 2 Betting
Just like LoL, Dota 2 is well-covered by 22bet. You can bet on all Dota Pro Circuit (DPC) events and even some minor competitions. There's a decent amount of betting markets available, and the odds are solid.

We hoped to see a bit more proposition bets available, and 22bet could have done a slightly better job offering more variety with its bet types. But those are just minor problems that won't affect your experience too much.
CS:GO Betting
22bet's offer of Counter-Strike: Global Offensive is very good. It covers all major events and even minor competitions and tier-3 leagues you might not be able to find on any other esports bookmaker.

Moreover, the odds quality is good, and we have nothing bad to say about the market selection either. You can bet on moneyline, handicaps, alternative handicaps, totals, maps, correct scores, etc. Unfortunately, props are non-existent, but we don't feel like that is a major issue.
Besides LoL, Dota 2 and CS:GO, 22bet also accepts bets on Valorant, StarCraft, KOG, and Rainbow Six, but note that they offer on these four is not as good as on LoL, Dota 2, and CS:GO. You will still be able to bet on other games, but don't expect too much.
User Experience (3.5/5)
22bet has a mobile betting app for iOS and Android, which is good, and it definitely improves our rating of the user experience it can provide. Admittedly, the mobile app is not one of the best in the industry, but it still holds a 3.6/5 rating, which is good enough.

But even though the mobile app is supposedly well-made, we aren't the biggest fans of the desktop website. The whole site seems a bit messy, trying to do too many things at once, resulting in slow loading times (at times), and it can be difficult to navigate through. It has some weird redirections, namely the one mentioned above - where if you click on “esports” you get redirected to the live betting section rather than the pre-match markets.

Moreover, we aren't the biggest fans of 22bet's esports page, which does not have a clear menu that would help you find what you're looking for. We're not saying that you will struggle to place a bet, but the overall design of 22bet is not as good as on other esports betting sites.

On a more positive note, 22bet has live streaming available, which is a plus, and you can translate the page into 57 different languages. All in all, there are things we like about 22bet, but we wouldn't say that the user experience on 22bet is the best.
Customer Support (4/5)
If you want to come in contact with customer support on 22bet, you have plenty of options. The site has four different email addresses – depending on the issue you're experiencing – a mobile number, live chat, and you can even create a ticket.

We don't necessarily believe that more options equal better service, but it's nice to have options. On the topic of the quality, we tested out 22bet live chat, and we don't have anything bad to say.
We got connected with customer support quickly, and we didn't need to wait long for answers. Moreover, the agents did their best to provide us with the answers we were looking for, and the whole experience felt professional.
We did not find any issues with 22bet customer support, although we have found multiple customers complaining about 22bet's poor approach to resolving serious issues – such as account closure – so we're deducting a point.
Deposits & Withdrawal Options (3/5)
22bet's offer of deposit options is seriously impressive, so we have no issues saying that you won't have a problem funding your account. While testing the site, we have found 19 different deposit options, including PaySafeCard, NETELLER, Creditos, Pay4Fun, Skrill, VISA, MasterCard, AstroPay, Perfect Money, Jeton, Sticpay, ecoPayz, Itau, Caixa, Santander, Boleto, Help 2Pay and Hizli QR.

Besides that, 22bet also accepts a nice range of crypto deposits, including 49 different options – anything from Bitcoin to Shiba Inu, Stellar, OMG Network, and many more. If you wish to withdraw money from 22bet, you will have slightly fewer options but still up to 16, including crypto.

It's fair to say that 22bet has more than enough deposit and withdrawal options available, but we have to address the elephant in the room – 22bet has a reputation as an esports bookmaker that doesn't pay its customers. We usually take those claims with a grain of salt, but there are enough complaints from customers who wanted to withdraw large sums of money and weren't able to make us concerned.
We can confidently say that you won't have any issues depositing money into your 22bet account. But we can't give any guarantees of how fast and if you will be able to get that money back.
22bet Casino (3/5)
Besides being an online sports and esports bookie, 22bet also offers casino games, and does a good job at it. It has a rich selection of slots games, and even live casino, which includes Roulette, Baccarat, Poker, Blackjack, Wheels of Fortune, and many more.

The slots have a demo version, so you can try them out before risking money, and they all work well, smoothly, and without any issues. But the most impressive is the enormous offer of slots and the variety they provide, making it very easy to find something for everyone.

But even though 22bet's casino offer is good, the site does not have a provably fair system, which we would like to see to give it a good rating. And the provably fair system is something you want to find on a bookie such as 22bet, whose reputation is not that good.
All in all, 22bet's casino offer is good and definitely worth checking out but it does lack a very important security feature, for which we have to deduct two points.
22bet is a shady online esports bookie and casino site that might be worth checking out, but there are definitely better and safer alternatives out there. Still, if you decide to give 22bet a chance, remember, gambling can be addictive – play responsibly.
