Is CloudBet Legit? [CloudBet Review]

Is CloudBet Legit?

CloudBet is a legit and safe crypto esports betting and gambling site and one of the most recognisable names in the crypto betting world. This review will reveal all the pros and cons of the site, but first, here are four reasons why CloudBet is legit:

  • CloudBet is owned and operated by Halcyon Super Holdings BV (a legit business located in Curacao).
  • The site is licenced and regulated by the government of Curacao.
  • It holds a gambling licence 1668/JAZ.
  • Established in 2013 and still good reputation

CloudBet is a crypto esports bookie and casino that is decent at everything but has too many flaws to be considered good.

Having been in the industry for nearly a decade now, CloudBet has had enough time to attract masses of crypto bettors and work on the flaws it had at the start – which there were many.

But with time, CloudBet improved and is known as a solid bookie and online casino, which any crypto bettor should check out. Its online reviews are somewhat mixed, giving it a 3.4/5 average rating, but don't let that figure fool you. CloudBet is a solid esports bookie, but more on that below.

CloudBet footer.

As a gambling site that has been operating since 2013, CloudBet has to be doing something right, and you can rest assured that it's safe and legal, as it's unlikely that an illegal bookie would stick around for so long. And if you're not convinced, CloudBet averages nearly 600k monthly visits (according to similarweb) and owns a legitimate betting licence.

There is nothing about CloudBet that would make us question its legitimacy. We can confidently say that this is a safe and legit esports bookie and definitely not a scam.

Welcome Bonus & Best CloudBet Promo Codes

Like any online esports bookie, CloudBet has a welcome bonus, and you don't need to look far to find it. It's offered on the main page in the form of a 100%  matched welcome bonus of up to 5 Bitcoin. It's a simple bonus that might not sound like a big deal, but getting up to 5 TBC in free money is nothing to sneeze at.

CloudBet bonus terms.

There are a couple more things you should know about the CloudBet welcome bonus, namely that the minimum deposit to claim the bonus is 0.001 BTC. It's also important to mention that you have 60 days to claim the bonus, which will get released into your account slowly, as you bet on esports/sports or play in the casino.

How To Claim CloudBet Welcome Bonus & Bonus Code

To grab your welcome bonus on CloudBet, you don't have to do much, and you don't even need a bonus code since there is none. Instead, you simply need to follow these three steps:

CloudBet join.
  1. Register for CloudBet by clicking on the "Join" button
  2. Complete your registration
  3. Make your first deposit via either credit/debit card or crypto and collect your reward.

CloudBet Bonus & Promotions (3/5)

CloudBet's welcome bonus is definitely on the more generous side, but it's not the only promotion that is available on this bookie. To find all other bonuses and promotions on CloudBet, you need to open the "Promotions" tab in the upper menu, and you will get presented with a nice selection of offers that are available to you.

CloudBet promotions.

Some of the most notable include Free Spins Tuesdays, a €40,000 prize pool casino competition, and a 10% Cashback on all provably fair games.

Unfortunately, there are no bonuses specific to esports betting, which CloudBet has in common with Stake, CSGOPolygon, and BetHard.

Even though CloudBet claims to have zero margins on betting odds, that rule applies only to sports betting. On a more positive side, CloudBet's VIP program awards your activity with free bets, but outside of that, esports bettors have only the welcome bonus and occasional deposit bonuses available.

CloudBet welcome bonus.

So while CloudBet's overall selection of bonuses is solid, we have to give it a lower rating due to not having any esports promotions and offers available (like Duelbits). Still, thanks to its generous welcome bonus, a 3/5 rating is justifiable.

Reputation & Safety (4/5)

CloudBet's reputation is mixed, mainly because the site was not considered very good when it first appeared. It had many issues, and there were a plethora of negative reviews of CloudBet at the time, but things have changed.

CloudBet improved and earned a tag of a solid gambling site, but due to its past, some gamblers continue to doubt it. Were here to tell you that there is no reason to feel concerned about using CloudBet, even though we would likely be of different opinion years back.

CloudBet rating.

On online review sites, CloudBet holds an average rating of 3.4/5, with many positive but also a fair share of negative reviews. But know that most negative reviews are people complaining about how the casino games are rigged because they lost money. Suffice to say, these complaints hold no weight and by no means suggest that CloudBet is a scam site.

CloudBet also owns a Curacao betting licence, which admittedly isn't the most impressive licence, but it is there. You can check the current status of the licence in the footer of the page and confirm that CloudBet has the licence on the official verification page.

CloudBet licence.

We looked over the site, checked what online reviews had to say, and even looked at reputable crypto betting forums and found nothing that would suggest CloudBet is a scam or anything less than a legitimate and safe esports bookmaker and crypto casino. But since it has a Curacao betting licence – also used by ThunderPick – we have to deduct one point. We're not giving it a five-star rating, but this is a safe site.

Esports Markets and Odds & Betting Features (3/5)

The availability of esports betting markets on CloudBet is very solid, and we can't complain about the variety of esports titles you can find here. CloudBet covers all esports games you would expect to find, including Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, League of Legends, Dota 2, Rocket League, Starcraft, Valorant, and more. The offer might not be as good as on Evobet, but it's still fairly decent.

CloudBet esports.

You can access the esports betting markets by clicking on "Esports" in the top menu and searching through the selection on the left side of the page. The main esports page even shows current live games, which is a nice addition; however, we were disappointed to learn that there is no live streaming option available

It doesn't take a lot to provide a live stream from Twitch, so we don't know how to feel about the lack of streams. Instead, you are presented with a graph showing the odds movement, which is a unique and exciting feature, but it doesn't compensate for the lack of streams.

CloudBet CS:GO markets.

On a more positive note, CloudBet has done a solid job covering as many leagues as competitions as possible, and the odds quality is solid. Yet there are many instances where you will only be able to bet on moneyline, or there simply won't be any odds available. Even for bigger events and important games, you might only have moneyline, map handicap and correct score markets available, which is highly disappointing.

All things considered, the esports betting markets that are available on CloudBet are not that good, but it has some redeeming qualities, namely competitive odds, so we're giving it a 3/5 rating. If you're looking for an esports bookie with a better offer of betting markets, Rivalry might be a better choice.

BET ON ESPORTS AT CLOUDBET

Counter-Strike: Global Offensive Betting

On CloudBet, you will be able to bet on all major and minor Counter-Striker: Global Offensive tournaments, which is a positive. However, don't be surprised to find a very limited offer of bets you can make. During our testing, we found that even games played in bigger tournaments, such as IEM Katowice, had only three betting markets available – moneyline, map handicap, and correct score – which is very disappointing.

CloudBet CS:GO.

So if you're a casual CS:GO bettor, CloudBet is a fine choice, but there are definitely better esports bookies out there with a much more generous offer of betting markets. Still, the CS:GO odds are competitive, so that's a plus.

BET ON CS:GO AT CLOUDBET

League of Legends Betting

Even though CloudBet's Counter-Strike: Global Offensive offer is lacking, the situation with League of Legends is much better. The site covers all major and minor LoL leagues and has an improved selection of betting markets you, as a bettor, can explore.

CloudBet League of Legends.

If you bet on games in major leagues, such as the LCS, you will be able to wager on moneyline, totals, a nice selection of handicap bets, and even some proposition bets, such as first drake, first inhibitor, first kill, race to 5/10/20 kills, and more. So while the CS:GO offer is disappointing, CloudBet has done a fine job with its LoL markets – but know that there are no live streams available, so we wouldn't get too excited about it.

CLOUDBET LOL BETTING

Valorant Betting

It seems like CloudBet has a hidden preference for Riot Games esports titles, seeing how its offer of Valorant betting markets is just as good as that for LoL. But jokes aside, we have found no flaws with CloudBet’s coverage of Valorant, and we were surprised to learn that CloudBet had markets for all the currently ongoing Valorant tournaments.

CloudBet Valorant.

The offered betting odds are also competitive, but we wouldn't say that they're the best you can find. We compared the Valorant betting odds found on 1bet, and found that while CloudBet had worse odds on the outsider teams, the favourites were priced at better odds.

That's not necessarily bad, knowing that you might be able to grab better favourites' odds on CloudBet, so you could consider using the site for price shopping. Know this odds trend is not exclusive for Valorant, but it holds true for all other esports games you can bet on at CloudBet – Dota 2, NBA2k, FIFA, King of Glory, LoL, CS:GO, StarCraft, CoD and Rocket League.

User Experience (3/5)

CloudBet has a well-designed website that isn't too flashy, nor does it try to offer too much to overwhelm you. Admittedly, the main esports page is filled with all the available esports betting markets, which wasn't necessary, but that isn't bad.

CloudBet odds.

There are issues with CloudBet that we can't look past, namely the lack of live streaming options. There is also nothing about CloudBet that would make it stand out from the rest or make your betting experience more enjoyable.

CloudBet esports page.

We must also note that there is no mobile betting app available for CloudBet, and while you can still access the site from your mobile browser, we are not too excited about the mobile site, which doesn't seem to be well optimised for mobile users. Overall, CloudBet's user experience is very basic and average, and as such, it deserves nothing more than an average rating.

Customer Support (3/5)

Every esports betting site or casino should have customer support available. You will usually have no issue finding either a button to access live chat, email contact, or a phone number. Unfortunately, that's not the case with CloudBet.

CloudBet footer page.

If you navigate to the footer of the page – where support contact is usually located – you will find only terms of service, rules, and basically anything but a button that would help you reach customer support. And we don't know how to feel about that.

CloudBet Discord.

There is a link to CloudBet's Discord server, which we joined, hoping that we would find a way to reach customer support there. Instead, we only found messages of people who were trying to do the same thing – contact customer support. So you might think that CloudBet doesn't have customer support – but that's not the case. It is there, but you have to click on your account on the top right side of the page and select the "Live Chat" option.

CloudBet live chat.

Even though you have to do some digging to find the live chat feature, it does work as intended, and we didn't have to wait long to get in contact with the agent, who provided us with fast and accurate answers.

Live chat seems to be the only way for you to contact CloudBet customer support, and even though it is available 24/7 (like on Eldorado.gg), we would like to see at least an email contact added. What's more, CloudBet does not have a FAQ section, so it's hard to give it a very good rating. A 2/5 would be a bit too harsh, so we'll bring it up to 3/5 since it has a responsive live chat and that is good enough.

Deposits & Withdrawal Options (4.5/5)

CloudBet is a crypto esports betting site (like Sportsbet.io) and casino, so it naturally accepts cryptocurrency deposits. To fund your account, you simply need to click on "Deposit" in the top right corner of the page and select your preferred method.

CloudBet deposits.

CloudBet had 23 different crypto deposit options during our testing, including Bitcoin, Ethereum Litecoin, Dogecoin, Solana, Shiba Inu, and all other well-known cryptos. With 23 different options available, it's more than fair to say that CloudBet has done an excellent job providing enough deposit options for its users.

Crypto are currently the only deposit method available on CloudBet, which we can't complain about since this is a crypto esports bookie and casino. However, you can still deposit money into CloudBet with credit/debit cards, but it will require you to take an additional step.

CloudBet MoonPay.

On CloudBet, you can buy crypto via MoonPay, so you would have to deposit funds using a third-party company. Still, MoonPay is a trusted financial technology company, so you don't have to worry about getting scammed and losing your money.

When we asked about the processing time, customer support informed us that you could expect all deposits and withdrawals to take a maximum of 24 hours on weekdays and up to 48 hours on weekends. However, most are processed within minutes.

If we draw a line, CloudBet's banking options are solid, and while it only accepts crypto (and indirectly credit/debit cards), you can't really complain about its offer. This is a crypto betting site, so anything beyond accepting cryptocurrency is just a bonus. But since you have to take an additional step and use a third-party company, which can delay your deposits, we're deducting half a point.

CloudBet Casino (2/5)

If there are no esports matches on the schedule, you can satisfy your gambling itch by visiting CloudBet's casino, which is very well made and deserves high marks. That isn't too surprising, seeing how heavily CloudBet promotes it and how many casino promotions and bonuses are available for the casino – in contrast to esports betting where there are none.

CloudBet casino.

There are many different games and slots to choose from, including card games, jackpot games, and even live casino. It's important to note that games and slots worked as intended during our testing, but we must also mention two added features, which we liked. You can play casino with either BTC, Euro, or USD, so while CloudBet is a crypto gambling site, you have options.

CloudBet RTP.

The second thing we liked about CloudBet casino is that it shows RTP% (Return to Player) under each game – so you at least know how much money you can expect to lose. But jokes aside, having the ability to see the RTP value is excellent and shows professionalism, which is something not many other gambling sites can say.

CloudBet RNG.

Unfortunately, CloudBet does not have a provably fair system (like CSGOPrime), which we can't look past. It claims all of its games are fair and that they carry an official Certification of Random Number Generator (RNG) Evaluation conducted by GLI (Gaming Laboratories International). GLI is reputable, so it’s fair to say that the games of Cloudbet are likely safe. However, unlike CSGOEmpire or CSGO500, CloudBet does not offer a way for customers to verify the game's fairness independently, for which we have to deduct two points.

CloudBet is a well-known name in the online esports crypto betting world and has a lot of things going for it. But while its overall offer is solid, it lacks some key areas to be considered great.
