Nitrous Networks Hosting Review [TESTED]
Nitrous Networks was founded in 2010 by Jordan Bryant and quickly gained a good reputation. One of the most appreciated features of Nitrous Networks is that it provides free web hosting with the package you purchase. In addition to Minecraft, Nitrous Networks offers hosting services for 24 different games, some of these popular games include Rust, Ark: Survival Evolved, Factorio, and Starbound. They also offer dedicated servers and Team Speak 3. It's also great that you can turn on your server immediately after you pay for it.
Is Nitrous Networks Legit?
Nitrous Network is undeniably legitimate. It was founded in 2010 in Bristol, England by Jordan Bryant and according to our research, many people who use it are very satisfied with its performance. Therefore, there is no need to have a question mark in your mind about this issue, yes Nitrous Network is definitely a legitimate server hosting provider.
User Experience and Ease of Setup (4/5)
Nitrous Networks is one of the best Minecraft server hosting providers in terms of ease of setting up your server and user experience. As soon as you pay for your server plan, you can immediately bring your server online, and even better than that, you can install plugins with a single click and add many Minecraft modpacks such as FTB, Tekkit, Bukkit, Technic to your server very easily.
In addition, this hosting service offers one more feature that other providers do not offer. When you enter the Map Shop tab, you will see many different maps and you can download these maps and upload them directly to your server, and if you are thinking of starting a community server, you can make your server's lobby very easily in this way. Nitrous Networks has 7 different server locations in London, Amsterdam, Falkenstein, Ashburn, Atlanta, Phoenix, and Quebec. The only thing missing for us under the name of user experience is that there is no automatic backup feature, but everything else is fine.
When we looked at the pricing of Nitrous Network game server host company for Minecraft hosting, we found it a bit expensive. There are definitely hosting providers that are cheaper and that you can prefer. However, if you think it is worth it for such quality, good DDoS protection, and a very nice and intuitive game panel that's nice. Nevertheless, we wouldn't recommend Nitrous Networks in terms of pricing, because for the price they offer you can find much more established, performant, and cheaper hosting providers.
For example, when we look at ShockByte Hosting, a more well-known company than Nitrous Networks, we can see that the 9 GB and 90+ slot Obsidian Plans are $22.50. When we look at Nitrous Networks, we see that the price is $41.93 for the 8 GB 60-slot TNT Tier package, which is closest to 9 GB. Therefore, we can say that although Nitrous Networks is not a company known enough to receive trademark money they overpriced.
1.5 GB RAM
$5.24 / per month
2 GB RAM
$10.48 / per month
3 GB RAM
$15.72 / per month
|Diamond Tier||4 GB RAM||1-20 Players||$20.97 / per month|
|Obsidian Tier||5 GB RAM||1-30 Players||$26.21 / per month|
|Bedrock Tier||6 GB RAM||1-40 Players||$31.45 / per month|
|TNT Tier||8 GB RAM||1-60 Players||$41.93 / per month|
|Community Tier||16 GB RAM||1-300 Players||$78.62 / per month|
Another issue is that customers generally complain about Nitrous Network's support. In general, when we look at the comments and complaints, we see that they are legit, but most people complain about the support team and the support ticket response time. While many people complain about the late response of tickets, another negative aspect is that there is no Live Chat feature on the site.
To test Nitrous Networks, we rented our Minecraft server and tested its performance and we also had a chance to test customer support. A lot of people complain about the support team being lazy, but that wasn't the case in our experience, we were able to get a response shortly after opening a ticket. It was fast for us, but a lot of people on the internet say that they are unfriendly and unresponsive, so keep that in mind.
Features and Performance (4/5)
When it comes to Features and Performance, we can say that we are satisfied with everything on this side. We tried the features we mentioned before on our own Minecraft server that we rented from Nitrous Network and we got very good results. First of all, let's talk about the performance of our server, when we entered our server, we entered quite crowded and our server remained extremely stable and we did not encounter problems such as slowdown. Then we tried to download mod pack from the Gamemods section and we turned our server into a modded Minecraft world in a really easy way.
Then we installed the World Edit and Essentials plugins on our server very easily, again from the Plugins section, and it literally didn't even take us 30 seconds to do it. Then finally, we tried the Map Store and installed a map we liked very quickly on our server and it worked completely smoothly.
As you can see, it would not be wrong to say they are great hosts and provide amazing service in terms of features and performance. Lastly, Nitrous Networks has a very simple and user-friendly interface that makes it very easy to get anything you want.
Nitrous Networks Reputation Amongst Gamers (2/5)
Nitrous Networks is not as known among other server hosts as well-known companies like Nitrado or G-Portal. There are many reasons for this, but the most obvious reason is that it was only founded in 2010. When we look at other well-known hosting providers, Nitrado was founded in 2001 and G-Portal in 2003, and they have risen to the top in this field thanks to their top-notch performance and customer satisfaction.
Nitrous Networks is a company we would definitely recommend in terms of performance and user-friendliness, but we would like to point out that their pricing is quite high. In addition, if you don't know what you're doing, you might want to look for companies that pay more attention to customer service.
