Proxy-Cheap is a relatively new proxy provider that has been gaining attention among internet marketers, but also among gamers. The company offers a variety of proxy types including residential, mobile, and IPv6 datacenter proxies, and when you combine it with good location coverage and affordable pricing, it may look like a dream! So, does it have any flaws? In this review, we will check out Proxy-Cheap all the way, and see how good it could be for a typical gamer, especially as an alternative for a VPN.
Is Proxy-Cheap Legit?
Yes, even though the prices may have you thinking that it's a scam, Proxy-Cheap is a wholly legit proxy provider.
Proxy-Cheap was founded in 2019 and it is a legitimate company registered in Lithuania. It's also worth mentioning that the founders don't hide their identity or information about the company – you can easily find everything online, which adds some credibility. They are also super transparent about how their plans work and how much you can get charged for them, so you don't need to worry about any out-of-blue expenses with Proxy-Cheap.
That said, at the first glance, if you are looking for a cheap residential proxy for gaming, Proxy-Cheap might just be the choice for you! However, if you still have some doubts about how Proxy-Cheap operates, we have reviewed it in various aspects, so read on.
Pricing (5/5)
A residential proxy is usually a pretty expensive kind of party that is often not worth it. However, in the aspect of pricing, Proxy-Cheap has truly no competition for a residential proxy, which is what it is mainly known for. Their pricing is based on bandwidth, with options to pay as little as $5 for 1 GB, while cost decreases as you purchase more bandwidth.

Honestly, it will be hard for you to find a better plan in terms of pricing, as many proxy providers have increased their prices, and Proxy-Cheap still keeps their prices low. So yeah, that's one of the easiest 5/5 ratings ever from us – this is just a great deal.
Reputation Amongst Gamers (4/5)
Currently, there are pretty much no reviews for Proxy-Cheap amongst gamers, as it is also a relatively new provider. However, we tested it as a VPN alternative for games like Rust, Call of Duty Warzone, Team Fortress 2, Roblox, Rainbow Six: Siege, and Valorant, so we formed our own opinion as certified gamers.

We think that Proxy-Cheap could work amazingly well for gaming, but that also depends on your goals. From our testing, Proxy-Cheap was one of the best tools for playing someone from another region in Valorant, out of all VPNs and proxy providers we have tested. It can also work nicely if you are trying to unlock some region-locked features or dodge an IP ban, which worked for us in League of Legends. Considering the fact that their residential proxy plan supports up to 127 locations, the options can be endless, depending on the game you are playing.
Features & Performance (4/5)
Proxy-Cheap offers a variety of features to help gamers bypass any region-locked barriers. One thing that helps with that is the fact that you have complete control over your IP address and you can manage it with just a few clicks, which can specifically help with the IP bans. However, one thing we are missing is the lack of city/state-specific proxies, for which we will steal one point from our rating.

It is also worth mentioning that Proxy-Cheap guarantees a 99 percent uptime, except for the world wide web going down... but if that happens, we are all doomed anyways, so whatever. Moreover, the response time was super good, and it actually helped with our ping a little bit for Rocket League. Speed test results were amazing for us, except for the US, where they were kind of average compared to the competition.
User Experience (4/5)
One thing we truly love about Proxy-Cheap is the fact that you can access services instantly after the payment. However, when it comes to the actual user experience, you may feel lost if you haven't used a proxy service before (and many gamers haven't). However, you can virtually find all options in a single tab! All you have to do to manage your residential proxies is go to the "Proxies" tab, then select "Residential Proxies" and you will have access to all of your features!

Still, if you haven't used proxy services before, it might be hard for you to set it all up. That said, let's check out how much you can rely on their customer support.
Customer Support (5/5)
Proxy-Cheap's customer support is just hands down excellent. It covers a 24/7 live chat support that is super easy to access, and you can find it in the bottom right corner of your Proxy-Cheap dashboard. What is more, you also have access to a pretty good amount of article guides, tutorials and an in-depth FAQ section.

However, what we really appreciate about all that is not the fact that they have a lot of articles – because that doesn't mean anything yet. What really matters here is how they are written... and again, hands down. Everything is so well-explained, and still, if you don't want to look for a specific article to help you with your issue, you might also use a 24/7 live chat support. One of the easiest 5 out of 5 ratings ever, for sure.
In conclusion, we consider Proxy-Cheap to be a legitimate and cheap proxy provider that offers a variety of proxy types, good location coverage, and affordable pricing. We are sure that it might be a good VPN alternative for many of our readers, especially people that want to unlock region-locked content such as Twitch Prime rewards or just like to get IP banned often.
However, one thing to keep in mind is that it doesn't cover city/state-specific proxies, and that's our only main concern, but still – how often do you need a specific city location for gaming, right? Usually, it's all about country, and because it is much cheaper than most VPNs, we would absolutely recommend it.
