When connecting to the nearest server, your average ping will almost always be slightly higher. However, most of the time, it won't be a super significant difference; but still, it's worth remembering that for all the goods that Surfshark provides us, we will lose some ping. 

In our tests, we looked at a server in Prague, a location often chosen by players interested in gambling and esports betting, as the Czech Republic has quite favorable law regulations for this type of entertainment. 

Overall, we were very satisfied and got exactly what we wanted - access to blocked content and complete anonymity. And when we tried to queue a few ranked games in CS:GO and Valorant using the same VPN server, the difference in ping was about 20ms! Considering that we're currently about 1000 kilometers from Prague, that's also a pretty good score.
