What is Champion II in Rocket League?

Champion II is the middle champion ranking placement within Rocket League between Champion 1 and Champion 3. This rank represents the players who have established themselves firmly as Champion standard players. These players have excellent game sense, have a firm grasp of all the core mechanics and a good amount of the more advanced mechanics. They have very few weak spots in their overall playstyle and they have the ability to read games and adapt their approach as needed. Mistakes are hard to come by at this level and any you make will be pounced upon.

What is The MMR For Champion II?

To become a Champion II player in Rocket League your MMR needs to be approximately between 1195-1299 MMR depending on the game mode you play in matchmaking. Below you can find the range of Champion II players and their various MMR rankings depending on which game mode they are playing:

1V11055 - 1105
2V21195 - 1299

Champion II is divided into four divisions and makes up about 0.74% of all Rocket League players.

Is Champion II a Good rank?

Champion II is a great rank. Including the ranks below, this makes Champion II players rank in the top 1,71% of all players. If you have this rank you are better than the vast majority of the players who frequently play this game, you are an expert in most aspects of this game and you have the ability to make an average player look silly without trying too hard to do so. However, you are still far from the lofty heights of elite-level Rocket League gameplay. While you barely make any mistakes, pro players never make mistakes and play at a much higher level technically and tactically, so keep practicing and bettering yourself.

How Many Hours to Achieve Champion II?

To establish yourself as a championship player and not just a yo-yo player bouncing between this and Diamond ranks, you need to have a lot of hours under your belt. Achieving champ ranks and maintaining the standards are two different things. So you’ll need to work hard to do so. We reckon that any player that wants this rank will need to put in at least 1800-2000 hours.

How to Improve from Champion II

Here are a number of things that players can do to rise up the ranks and improve their game when ranked in Champion II:

  • Teamwork is essential at this level. So approach every attack with the mindset that if your teammate is in a better position than you, pass the ball. Going it alone may have somehow got you this far but that won’t get you any further.
  • Connecting with the ball is also essential. Missing the ball entirely is something that seldom happens at this level. So if you do, you’ll be the weak link. So be sure to train and practice connecting with even the most tricky of high balls and achieve aerial dominance.
  • Rotation becomes a lot more contextual at this stage. No longer does one set of rules cover all scenarios. The speed of play is rapid from here.
  • Play at speed, you need to improve your reaction times and aim to be the first one on the ball always. So don’t dwell, waiting for situations to develop, be on the front foot and dictate the play.
