Restart CS2 (CSGO) and Steam

The first solution is the easiest one. Sometimes, the solution is to simply turn your game off and on. Try restarting your CS2 (CSGO) client through the "quit" console command or manually to see if it works!

If your CS2 (CSGO) fails to launch and fix the problem, proceed to restart your Steam client. To restart your Steam client, follow the steps below:

  1. On the top left corner of your Steam client, click on the Steam button

  2. Then, click on Exit

  3. Steam will begin shutting down. All you have to do is relaunch the Steam application

  4. Once you’ve opened up Steam, try launching CS2 (CSGO) and finding a match to see if the error still occurs

Exit Steam

Verify Integrity Of Your CS2 (CSGO) Game Files

The second potential fix is another easy one to do. For this solution, you will be verifying the integrity of your CS2 (CSGO) files. To verify integrity, follow the steps below:

CS2 (CSGO) Properties

  1. Head over to your Steam Library, and right-click on CS2 (CSGO)

  2. After right-clicking, hit the Properties button

  3. A new menu will pop up. Navigate to the Installed Files section

  4. There, you will be able to click on the Verify integrity of game files button

Verify Itegrity

The Steam client will begin processing your game files, which can take anywhere from 2 to 10 minutes. Patiently wait; once completed, try relaunching CS2 (CSGO) to see if the issue is solved.

Deleting Workshop Maps

Since the main issue revolves around Community Workshop Maps, the final solution is to start unsubscribing from maps and then deleting them.

One of the main contributors to the error is when workshop maps are not appropriately installed, resulting in them corrupting your entire workshop game folder.

Since it’s difficult to tell which workshop map is causing the issue, the easiest way to go about it is to unsubscribe from every workshop map in your Library and reinstall them again.

Deleting your workshop map is a two-step process:

  • Unsubscribing from the maps

  • Deleting them in the Workshop folder.

Let’s slowly go through the process:

Unsubscribing From Workshop Maps

The first step of deleting workshop maps is to unsubscribe from all of them. Here’s how to do it:

CS2 (CSGO) Workshop

  1. Open your Steam client, and click on the Community tab

  2. Click on Workshop

  3. Search for the Counter-Strike: Global Offensive Workshop

  4. Next, click on Browse and then Subscribed Items:

  5. All your subscribed Workshop Items will be listed

  6. Click the button that says Unsubscribe From All

Browse Workshop Maps

Unsubscribe From All

After unsubscribing from all your maps, you can now delete them in the Workshop file folder.

Deleting The Entire Workshop File

Now, we’re going to make our way to the Workshop File to begin deleting the maps.

Browse Files

  1. Open your Steam client, head over to your Library

  2. Right-click CS2 (CSGO), then hit Properties

  3. Click on Installed Files, then go to Browse

  4. The Browse button will open your File Explorer

  5. In the folder, go to csgo > maps > workshop

  6. Right-click on the workshop Folder and delete it

Delete Workshop

All your workshop maps will be wiped, so you’ll have to begin reinstalling them again. After reinstalling your maps, try booting them up again. This solution should be a total fix to the problem.
