How to Moan in CS:GO
The Counter-Strike: Global Offensive console is usually used by serious players to set up binds that can help players do things conveniently and efficiently such as setting up crosshairs, radars and increasing performance. However, members of the community have figured out how people can use the CS:GO console to make moaning sounds at will.
How does the moaning sound work?
The Counter-Strike: Global Offensive in-game characters tend to make noises when things are going on in the game, such as getting shot or getting kills. The interesting part is that the in-game character usually moans when dying, acting like a dying noise.
Players have figured out how to make this moan play whenever they want. This is done by setting a keybind and pairing it up with a command to play the sound effect at will. The way it works is that the radio command of the moaning sound will be played, and since it acts just like a normal radio commands, you and the entire team will be able to hear it.
CS:GO Moan Bind
A bind will be needed to make the moan button. Here are the steps on setting up the moan bind:
- Open the console
- Type bind <key> “playerradio deathcry moan”
The “<key>” can be set to any button you desire, for example if you want to set the key to “L”, then the command will be bind L “playerradio deathcry moan” and it will work.
How to use the Moan Button
Due to the command being removed by Valve in a recent update, you can only moan when sv_cheats is enabled!
In a custom lobby, do the following:
- Type sv_cheats 1
- Type sv_playerradio_use_allowlist 0
- Spam the bind!
It is very sad, but Valve has disabled the command in normal matchmaking and can only be used when sv_cheats is on. Nonetheless, it is still a funny bind that players can use to troll their friends!

To bind the moan sound to a key, we will need to open the console and type in the command.
