How to Bunnyhop [BHop] in CS:GO
Is running too slow for You in CSGO? Try bunnyhopping, a great technique to increase your speed! BHop Commands included to copy+paste.
What is Bunny Hopping?
In video game terms, Bunny Hopping is running while jumping regularly. Not all games allow Bunny Hops and it's not always a good thing to do. The Source Engine in Counter Strike allows players to do so which means players can strafe faster for a limited time.
Being able to move faster in CSGO is a game-changer, it lets you and your team reach areas much quicker than normal which is perfect for setting up an ambush or surprising an enemy when they try to move around the map. If you are into CSGO Surfing, the velocity gained in the strafe jump is also a crucial factor. Furthermore it's especially beneficial for the Terrorist team on certain maps when rushing towards the Bombsites or objectives.
BHop Commands for you to copy+paste
Binding jump the mouse wheel scroll using bind mwheelup and mwheeldown commands is quite common and if you have the Console Commands already activated then you can do it through there.
[gg-copy-text text="bind mwheelup +jump"]
[gg-copy-text text="bind mwheeldown +jump"]
Those commands shall only assist you trying to perform some bunny hops by binding your keys. If you are looking for an automatical bunny hop commands then you should copy paste those into the console:[gg-copy-text text="sv_cheats 1;sv_enablebunnyhopping 1;sv_maxvelocity 7000;sv_staminamax 0;sv_staminalandcost 0;sv_staminajumpcost 0;sv_accelerate_use_weapon_speed 0;sv_staminarecoveryrate 0;sv_autobunnyhopping 1;sv_airaccelerate 2000"]
While using those bunnyhop commands the game will let you bhop automatically when pressing the spacebar by increasing your general velocity. However if you are looking for an automated bunny hop alternative without a velocity increase you should try these:
[gg-copy-text text="sv_cheats 1;sv_enablebunnyhopping 1;sv_maxvelocity 3500;sv_staminamax 0;sv_staminalandcost 0.050;sv_staminajumpcost 0.080;sv_accelerate_use_weapon_speed 0;sv_staminarecoveryrate 0;sv_autobunnyhopping 1;sv_airaccelerate 12"]
How to BunnyHop in CS:GO
Bunnyhoping only works when done side to side as a strafing movement. To perform the movement there are different potential combinations to move left or right quickly. Here is how to bhop in csgo:
- Press forwards
- Press D
- Move the mouse to the right
- Jump just before you land
- Press A
- Move your mouse to the left.
It's a good idea to practice this movement using the bunny hop command sv_maxvelocity 3500 until you become more comfortable with doing this. It doesn't matter which direction you start to move in with this so just do whatever feels natural to you. The best place to practice this is on a surf server.
Some people have servers exclusively for this and if you join a clan you might find they also have one set-up for people to use as testing things in the game. Please note that none of the bunny hop commands will work on public matches since there needs to be sv_cheats 1 to be enabled. One thing to remember while performing a Bunny Hop is that the mouse movement speed needs to be smooth and consistent. Too fast, slow or jerky will cause you to lose speed instead of gaining it. So it gives you the opposite result and instead of reaching areas first to grab a quick kill, you just slow hop into a room and get immediately fragged yourself. Get yourself in a comfortable sitting position and remember to change your jump keybindings to one that's more comfortable to press regularly. This binding is personal to you so make sure it is comfortable. However, a common keybinding for jump is the mousewheel scroll though you can also keep it bound to space if you prefer.
Why you should train your Bunnyhop skills
A big benefit for Bunny Hopping in Counter Strike is that it makes you harder to hit. And if you're harder to hit then you're harder to kill! It's common for people to use this manoeuvre during confrontations or engagements as well in open areas with little cover like on Dust II, Train or Overpass. Using Bunny Hopping doesn't work behind cover but for open areas it's perfect.
Bunny Hopping is a common gameplay aspect in CSGO and many other games as well. For CSGO however, moving like this gives you a very advantageous speed boost.
While it might sound a little complex if you've never seen a video of someone doing this movement, Bunny Hopping in Counter Strike is very simple. Anyone can learn how to do this easy movement and most players already use this in games.
