Skinport is my favorite website to sell CS2 and Dota 2 skins. I’ve sold items on the site numerous times and cannot express how happy I am with their service.

I’ll admit that the sales fee is on the pricier side, which can make you think twice when selling items at Skinport. 

Suppose you made a successful sale on Skinport, which isn’t rare to see on their site. DMarket is a US-based marketplace platform that deals with Dota 2 items and other Steam games. After transacting thousands of dollars on the website, I can confirm that DMarket is legit.

DMarket follows a very simple design. The website is not as clean as Skinport but focuses on displaying more items at a time, making browsing through the thousands of Dota 2 items a breeze.

One of my favorite things about selling on DMarket is you can have buyers bid for your items. You can set the price of your item slightly above market price and have users give their best offers, which you can take. I also turn to DMarket when I want to trade my Dota 2 items for others. 

Another great part about DMarket is their low sales fees. When selling items on DMarket, you will be charged a 1 to 7% sales fee, considerably lower than the other websites on the list! However, most Dota 2 items on their website are discounted, meaning many sellers had to lower their original prices to convert sales, which is something that can threaten you as a seller. Keep that in mind when selling on DMarket!

You won’t have to pay a withdrawal fee if you successfully sold an item. Next on the list is Bitskins, a reputable website with the cleanest website interface on the list. The website has been running since 2015 and is still going strong today.

As mentioned earlier, I think Bitskins has a very simplistic yet informative website design. When browsing the site to see how much your competitors are pricing their items, you can immediately see the Steam price of said item, allowing you to price your items accordingly.

One of the best parts about Bitskins is how safe it is to sell your Dota 2 items there. The website requires you to go through 2-factor authentication to access your trades and transactions. Bitskins is also completely protected with a PCI DSS certificate.

When selling items on Bitskins, you will be met with a 5 to 10% sales fee, which isn’t as much as Skinport. However, the percentage mentioned earlier does not include the withdrawal fee that Bitskins imposes. You must pay extra money to withdraw your funds, and you can only cash out through Cryptocurrency and Visa, which doesn’t give enough flexibility, in my opinion. I think the fees and payment methods are the biggest drawback for Bitskins, which is why it is placed third on the list. 

However, there is light at the end of the tunnel. Bitskins rewards loyal customers by lowering their fees after every few transactions. So, if you want to be an active seller at Bitskins, your costs will be cut down the more you use the website. Still, I'd rather have a flat fee rather that one that decreases, as the high fees can already scare new customers away.

Overall, Bitskins has a vast user base, so your items can sell quickly if the price is right. Unfortunately, we’ll have to reduce points due to the lack of payment methods.

Skincashier

The fourth website on the list is Skincashier, a website that will help you instantly cash out your Dota 2 items.

Let’s get straight to the point. In the other websites mentioned on the list, you are selling your items to other players; in other words, you are engaging in P2P (peer-to-peer) trading. In Skincashier, you directly sell your items to the websites, ensuring that your item sells instantly and you can get paid quickly.

This sounds really good, but there’s a catch. Skincashier buys skins at considerably lower prices than you’d fetch when selling to another person. Finally, we have the official marketplace of Steam and Valve Corporation, the Steam Marketplace. Regarding safety and trading protection, nothing comes close to the Steam Market.

The Steam Market provides sellers with several analytic tools. You can see a graph of price fluctuations for any item. You can filter this graph to show results in the last month, year, and even the item’s entire lifetime! Having this helpful tool will help you put educated prices on your items.

When selling items on the Steam Marketplace, users will receive their money immediately after selling them. And since the Steam Marketplace is the most-used platform to sell Dota 2 items, as long as the price is right, you’ll see your item be sold in no time!

Unfortunately, there are two massive drawbacks. First, you will be met with a 15% fee for every item you sell. The second reason is you cannot withdraw the money from selling your Dota 2 items. When selling items on the Steam Marketplace, the funds will go to your Steam Wallet, which cannot be cashed to your bank account or Crypto wallet.

As a result, selling items on the Steam Marketplace is only recommended if you are looking to use the funds to buy other Dota 2 items. So, if you want real money from selling your Dota 2 skins, the four websites mentioned earlier are your best bet.
