Collect 1x Ink Sac

The easiest way to get Black Dye is to farm Ink Sac. You can just go swimming and hunt Squid, but if you need a large quantity, making a Squid farm is not a bad idea rather than manually farming it.

Squid can spawn in River/Ocean biomes. You can also get Ink Sac by fishing or finding it in chests in the Stronghold with 40% for 1-3x Ink Sac.

Collect 1x Wither Rose

Another way to make Black Dye is to collect Wither Rose, which is a super rare flower that only spawns when a creature is killed by a Wither.

So it’s not practical to manually farm it this way. Instead, you should make a Wither Rose farm using the Wither and a spawner.

Finish off crafting a Black Dye

When you have either 1x Ink Sac or 1x Wither Rose, simply put them in a crafting grid to get 1x Black Dye. No Crafting Table is required.

Another way to get Black Dye directly is to trade with the Wandering Trader. You can exchange 3x Black Dyes for 1x Emerald.
