Trade-in system in Rocket League explained

Trading can be such a valuable asset to players who are looking to get rid of some unwanted Rocket League items, get some credits or build an empire of rare goodies through smart trade deals.Though it isn’t always possible to find someone that is willing to take these items off your hands, you may not have anyone in your friends list that plays Rocket League. Or perhaps those that do simply have no interest in the items you are offering. After all, not every item is going to be super popular. This is where the trade-in system (also called trade-ups) comes in handy.

What is the trade-in System?

Released way back in 2016, this system allows players to select five items that they no longer wish to keep in their inventory. These are usually items that they couldn’t trade-off to other players too. Then, once they agree to part with the items, they will be gifted one item of the next highest rarity. Meaning that for all those items that you have no use for, you may get something really special. You can even trade-in items to get rarities all the way up to exotic quality. This means that you have a real chance to spice up your vehicle without investing any cash or credits. Also, in line with the new credit and blueprints system, you can also trade up blueprints to receive higher quality ones too.

How to trade-in Rocket League Items

  3. Next, go through your items and select five of the same rarity to trade-in.
  4. Once you are happy with your selection, press confirm and you will be gifted a higher rarity item for your efforts.

Understanding the trade-in system in Rocket League

Though on a base level, the Rocket League trade-in system seems very straight forward, it can be hard to establish what items you will receive when trading in in-game items of different qualities. For example, what will you receive if you trade in a very rare set of items? Well, we have researched just what is on offer when trading different item qualities. Here’s a quick rundown on what you need to know.Firstly, when trading very rare items, if you give up five of these items you will receive an import item. Trade-in to trade up

No one likes to have no way to get rid of old useless items. Nor does anyone want to have no way of earning new items to replace them. So Rocket League’s trade-in system offers a way to shift your unwanted loot for more desirable goodies. It allows players who don’t have friends to trade with or those who do who won’t take their unwanted loot a chance to get better items.Plus, this gives players new bargaining chips to use when they are trading. With new, higher item rarities they can offer better deals and potentially get the items that they’ve been wanting for the longest time. It’s a wonderful system that makes collecting duplicates and lower-tier items exciting as it offers the opportunity to grow their value through trading in. It’s a smart system and has to be commended.
