What Are Hellhound Zombies in Call of Duty?

Hellhound zombies are essentially just dogs from hell. Massive German Shepherds, each dog has little to no fur on their head, and will have flames seeping from their eyes and often open ribs.

If the fire and flames wasn't scary enough, these dogs will explode the second they are killed, whether it's from a knife or a round in their skull. These explosions will of course leave fire behind which can damage the player.

Where Do Hellhounds Come From?

The origin for the hellhound On is explained through radio messages in Der Riese, although the hellhounds themselves first appeared on the map shi Shi No Numa.

These radio messages explain how Edward Richtofen, a Nazi scientist, was doing experiments at Der Riese. Testing animals first, Richtofen attempted to teleport Samantha, his daughter's dog Fluffy.

After being teleported, Fluffy became a Hellhound. In the chaos following Richtofen trying to get rid of his daughter, Fluffy ends up being teleported into the Aether.

Because she was pregnant when she was teleported, Fluffy is stuck in the Aether giving birth to the dangerous dogs that are hellhounds for all eternity.
