Restart Steam Client
Sometimes, the solution is as easy as turning something off and on. In this case, the first solution is to restart the Steam client. To restart Steam, follow the steps below:
Open your Steam client and head to the top left
On the top left, there will be a button named Steam
Click on the Steam button, and a menu will pop up
Hit Exit Steam. This will close your Steam client
Finally, relaunch Steam
If restarting Steam doesn’t work, a quick restart of your computer could maybe do the trick!
Try Opening Steam On Your Browser
If you are getting the “Inventory is not available at this time” error when opening your inventory in your Steam client, one way to find a way around it is to open Steam on your web browser instead.
By using a different platform to open your Steam inventory, you might get into Steam servers from a slightly different connection that can bypass the error. It’s definitely worth a try!
Check Steam’s Status Page
Since opening your CS2 (CSGO) inventory requires a connection to the Steam and CS2 (CSGO) network, sometimes, the error may come from Steam’s side instead of yours. If Steam and CS2 (CSGO) servers are experiencing issues, then there’s, unfortunately, nothing you can do on your part.
To check if Steam servers are healthy and running, you can head over to this Steam status page to check all the information surrounding Steam and CS2 (CSGO) servers.
If the servers are not experiencing any issues while you are checking the website, the issue should be on your end.
Temporarily Change Your Custom Steam URL
The following solution may sound odd, but it has fixed the error for many Steam users. For this method, you want to temporarily change your custom Steam profile URL and then change it back. Do not mix your custom Steam URL with your Steam Trade Link!
To change your custom URL, follow the steps below:
Open your Steam client, and hover over your Steam username
Then, click on Profile
Once you are on your Steam Profile, go to Edit Profile
Under About, you will see your Custom URL
You’re going to change it temporarily, so just add a few random letters to the end of your URL
Then, save your changes by scrolling all the way down
Check to see if your inventory can load properly now
Finally, go back to change your Custom URL back to what it initially was
Use This Browser Extension (Google Chrome)
The final method of fixing the issue is to use this browser extension that works on Google Chrome. The CS2 (CSGO) trading browser plugin extension can be activated by following the steps below:
Click on this GitHub link to find the browser extension. Once on the website, head to Code and click Download Zip. Then, unzip the downloaded file.
Open Google Chrome and type in chrome://extensions/. On the top right of your screen, activate Developer Mode.
Three new buttons will appear on the top left. You're going to click on Load Unpacked.
You will be taken to your File Explorer. Follow this file path: FixCS2 (CSGO)Inventory-master > de > cantry > fixcsgoinventory. Once you have reached the fixcsgoinventory folder, click Select Folder.
Then, try to open your Steam inventory on your browser. This extension should be the ultimate fix!
