How to disable auto attack in Dota 2 in a few clicks

While this might seem like a great function, it causes more issues than it solves them. But, it also has its uses. There are several filters that would allow your hero to use auto attack only in specific situations. Some of them might even be useful.

1. Go to settings
2. Click on options
3. In the top left corner, there is an auto attack box

7. Always: Automatically attack any enemy within range (Your hero will auto attack the nearest enemy after every order).

Here are a few reasons why you should consider disabling this feature:

• You won't accidentally hit an enemy hero, thus pulling creep aggro towards you.
• Auto feature might activate while you're concealed from nearby heroes. For example, you might hit the nearest creep while hiding in the nearby trees. Needless to say, this will reveal your current position, thus eliminating the element of surprise.
• It can interrupt your last hitting patterns. That way, you can lose a lot of creep farm just because you haven't disabled the function.
• Auto attack feature is especially bad during the initial laning phase, but it can also pose issues later on.

Reasons why you shouldn’t disable auto attack

• It can be good for AFK farming the jungle or creep lane. However, it might also cause some unpredictable issues if you relax too much and lose focus. Difficult to keep track for the average dota 2 player.

• You can also enable auto attack for summons only. Some players prefer having this function on as it can prove to be useful in a lot of situations.
