Hitbox and Ball Handling

The Octane hitbox is considered to be the best in the game and both these cars, the Octane and Dingo share this hitbox together. It is also the most reliable hitbox if you’re trying to get better at the game regardless of whether you’re new or a veteran Rocket League player.

Hitbox and Ball Handling

The Octane for obvious reasons is obtained with the Octane hitbox and has a fantastic turn radius for easier control. However, you might think that this makes the Octane the car body most suitable for this hitbox. This was true until the arrival of the Fennec which is best suited for the Octane hitbox, and the Dingo next to the Octane is coming at a close second.

The Dingo also makes fantastic use of this hitbox. The height and width of the car body are closely in tune with the hitbox which makes it easier to dribble and anticipate where to hit the ball, for blocks and shots. A lot of the car protrudes outwards in the front compared to the hitbox which is one of its flaws.

Appearance

The Appearance category is a major part of Rocket league considering how much people spend on cosmetic items.

Appearance

Like in most of our comparison articles, especially when it comes to the appearance of the Octane, we find that the car body is lacking in this aspect. Although one of the best cars in the game, a lot of players get bored of using the Octane solely because of the way it looks. It feels like you’re controlling an RC car while players love cars that look more like real cars.

Appearance

The Dingo on the other hand is quite the charmer. It is a very attractive car body and people say that the car design was inspired by the Fennec and mainly the Nissan Skyline GTR Hakosuka which is a beautiful vintage car. In comparison to the basic looks of the Octane, the Dingo stands out as the clear winner in the appearance category.

What’s better than the word free? The Octane being a top-tier car in Rocket league is also completely free. It has been this way ever since the beginning of Rocket League, which shows how the game is balanced and not play to win.

Cost

However, this is not the case with the Dingo. You have to purchase the car with credits and this has been the case ever since its release. So, that being said there is a clear winner here, which is the Octane as you can't really beat “free”.

The Titanium White variants on the other hand are extremely expensive compared to the basic bodies, especially for the Octane.

The Dingo on the other hand is a relatively newer car and has not had a lot of time to establish itself competitively. Keeping in mind pro players already have an idea of which car they really like to use which makes it harder for newer cars to top the older and more reliable ones.

Conclusion

The Dingo is definitely worth the shot if you want to try out a new car. A lot of players really like this car and have already added it to their top 3 list. However, in comparison to the veteran Octane, it still has a long way to go before beating this legend.
