The Best Caustic Skins in Apex Legends That make You Stand Out

Caustic will forever go down as the one who knocks, making him an intimidating enemy.

Apex Legends’ Caustic is another very well-known and loved champion, one who is infamous for his Nox Gas Grenades and Nox Vision. Alexander Nox they call him - a bright scientist from Humbert Labs turned sociopathic madman who realized experimenting on live test subjects was far more efficient. Caustic and Gibraltar were always known as the big and bulky starter legends, and many of his skin designs utilize that physical attribute. With that being said, there will be many skins to cover in today’s list of the best Caustic skins in Apex Legends, so strap in and let’s go.

Dark Cloud

The Dark Cloud skin for Caustic is not part of any Apex Legends Season Battle pass or event. It’s a legendary skin that can be crafted for 10500 Legend Tokens only if you have the “Divine Right” skin for Caustic

Some have pondered why a skin as simple as this is one of the rarest Caustic skins, and to be honest it’s not much of a surprise. Most games have these clean and simple skins that don’t focus on stylish cluttering, and the Dark Cloud skin is one of those. The color pattern fits well and it focuses more on accentuating Caustic’s enigmatic nature. Some Apex Legends players still hope for its return to the item store.

Blackheart

The Blackheart skin for Caustic is not part of any specific Apex Legends Season Battle pass or event. It’s a legendary skin that can be crafted for 1200 Crafting Materials, or bought for 1800 Apex Coins.

The Blackheart has a similar color pattern to the Dark Cloud skin, but it definitely has more going on when it comes to the design and layers. A good part of the outfit is covered in some type of fur, with the golden mask nicely finishing the entire look. The best part about this skin is that it isn’t exclusive or even rare, it can easily be crafted or bought. Be sure to give it a try if it piques your interest.

Prince of Darkness

The Prince of Darkness skin for Caustic was released during Apex Legends Season 2. It’s a legendary skin and was unlocked at Battle pass level 25.

The Prince of Darkness skin might be the rarest Caustic skin out there, and we’ll explain why. As you can see for yourself, this skin is hands down one of the most creative Caustic skins out there. What the concept artist of this skin managed to do was infuse Caustic’s background as a character into this medievalesque design. The fact that it was released way back in Season 2 of the game is why it’s so rare nowadays, and there’s a good chunk of people that want it to return.

Necrosis

The Necrosis skin for Caustic was released as part of the System Override Collection Event during Apex Legends Season 4. It’s a legendary skin that could’ve been crafted for 2400 Crafting Materials, or bought for 1800 Apex Coins

Whoever came up with this skin needs a raise. The Necrosis skin is hands down one of the absolute best skins in Apex Legends. It is our favorite, and many players across the world agree with us on this. The design of the face alone is enough to make you buy this, but the futuristic design on the other parts of the body completes it perfectly. It made a short comeback in 2021 during the Evolution Collection Event, but it hasn’t been seen in stores since then. Due to its popularity, many newer players are keen on seeing if it’ll return.

Deputy of Death

The Deputy of Death skin for Caustic was released as part of Apex Legends Season 8 Chaos Theory Collection Event in a bundle. It’s a legendary skin that could’ve been crafted with 2400 Crafting Materials, or bought for 1800 Apex Coins.

The Deputy of Death is in tight rivalry with the Necrosis skin when it comes to player popularity. This skin gives off a very royal and badass vibe, especially with the golden beige color pattern that was chosen. The way this skin was designed just further proves the talent of the concept artists at Respawn Entertainment. We thought it wasn’t possible to mold Caustic into a gunslinging deputy, but we’ve once again been proven wrong.

Silverback

The Silverback skin for Caustic was released as part of the Silverback Bundle during the 9th Season of Apex Legends, May 2021. It’s a legendary skin, and could’ve been bought for 2500 Apex Coins.

The Silverback Bundle and skin as a whole were nice additions to Caustic. The futuristic armor design is very similar to the Necrosis skin, and it plays into Caustic’s bulky physique as well. The mask on this skin is a bit different than the usual Caustic skins, but it’s still a nice addition considering that nearly all of the Caustic skins have similar masks. Unfortunately, we’re not sure when this exclusive skin or bundle will return to the Apex item store.

Claustic

The Claustic skin for Caustic was first released as part of Mirage’s Holo-Day Bash Event in 2019. It’s a legendary skin, and could’ve been crafted for 2400 Crafting Materials, or bought for 2000 Apex Coins when it was in a bundle.

The Claustic skin was Apex Legends' attempt at making a Santa Claus Christmas skin. And in all honesty, it’s actually better than most of the Christmas skins that we see in games come December. Picking Caustic for such a skin was a smart move due to his stature and body, not to mention how creative the overall design is. It’s also not too cluttered, which is always a plus. It’s not available anymore, but the probability of it returning for future Christmas holidays is high.

Barracuda

The Barracuda skin for Caustic was released as part of the Dark Depths Event in 2023. It’s an epic skin, and can be unboxed via an Apex Pack or simply crafted for 800 Crafting Materials.

The Barracuda is nothing special in terms of creative design, but the reason why it’s on this list is the rich and vibrant color pattern that sets it apart from the other epic skins. Blue, red, and white are smartly placed in differing patterns across each part of the skin. This skin is great for people who don’t want to spend a lot of their crafting materials or coins. It also would’ve been great as a Twitch Prime Gaming reward instead of the current ones.

Synthesis Chamber

The Synthesis Chamber skin for Caustic was released as part of the Monsters Within Event in 2021. It’s a legendary skin, and could’ve been unboxed via Apex Packs or crafted for 2400 Crafting Materials during the aforementioned event

To put it lightly, the Synthesis Chamber surprised everyone with its unconventional design. The design itself is wildly different from the usual Caustic skins, even when compared to the futuristic and gunslinger designs. This skin precedes futuristic and enters the extraterrestrial aesthetic territory. What we can surely say about it is that it’s unique, and uniqueness is always a refreshing trait. Let’s hope this skin makes a return to the Apex item store soon.

Mad King

The Mad King skin for Caustic was released as part of the Season 8 Anniversary Collection Event in 2021. It’s a legendary skin, and could’ve been crafted for 1200 Crafting Materials, or bought for 1800 Apex Coins

The Mad King skin is another one of those very popular Caustic skins that are hands down the most desired skins amongst Caustic mains. The color pattern is hands down the best feature of this skin, and the colors all bounce off each other, making one beast of a skin. Similar to the Prince of Darkness skin, the Mad King skin is plagued by its rarity. It did make an appearance during the 2023 Lunar New Year Sale, so if you didn’t pick it up you’ll probably have to wait patiently.

Caustic only scratches the surface when it comes to Apex champions and their skins. This is why we’ve gone ahead and created lists such as the top Mirage skins, the top Revenant skins, the top Loba skins, and finally, the top Wraith skins. There are so many good-looking and innovative skins for the legends in this game, and we’re thrilled that the concept artists at Respawn Entertainment infuse these skins with their passion. With all that being said, there are many more legends and skins to cover in Apex Legends, and we’ve compiled a list of not only Caustic’s best skins, but also a list of the coolest skins in all of Apex Legends.

Caustic is a one-of-a-kind legend. His sociopathic and cold nature leaves many things up for debate, especially when it comes to lore. We know many of you are devoted Caustic mains, which is why we hope you enjoyed our list of the best Caustic skins in Apex Legends.
