10 Best Skins For the CAR SMG in Apex Legends

Speaking of Wyrmborn, it absolutely deserves the #1 spot as the best CAR SMG skin in the game.

The thing that sets this skin apart as one of the best weapon skins in Apex Legends is its unique design compared to some of the other Legendary skins. With this skin, the CAR SMG becomes more animal than machine. To me, it even looks like a small drake is imprisoned within the construct of the machine. That is why, out of all the weapon skins available to the CAR SMG, this is "The Weapon Skin."

Devilish Artistry

When I said that the CAR SMG is a work of art, I was referring to this skin.

The Devilish Artistry skin for the CAR SMG is just ... wow! Come to think of it, it's probably in my top 3 Apex Legends weapon skins. I especially like it when it's paired with Revenant's Soulless Sentry skin, which is undeniably one of the best Revenant skins in Apex Legends. Everything from the golden etchings to the symmetry of the gun screams perfection. The other skins simply can't compete.

Ethereal Heresy

Thankfully we're in Apex Legends. If this were 40k, this weapon skin would receive a prompt purging.

There's something about the Ethereal Heresy skin that makes it so pleasing to look at. Compared to the previous Legendary skins, it doesn't change the look of the CAR SMG that much. It touches up the iron sights a bit, and it gives the weapon a new black and red makeover. But for some reason, it just looks so elegant, so, so, sublime! Whatever it is, it's definitely doing its job right.

Petal Punisher

Here's why I think the CAR SMG is one of the weirdest guns in the game. Some of its best skins aren't even Legendary skins. Like this one for example.

I'll tell ya, the Petal Punisher skin is really something. Personally, I like pairing it with Ash's Inner Deamon skin, which is in my opinion one of the best Ash skins in Apex Legends. Both skins are reminiscent of Japanese artistry but with a slight contrast, which makes it all the more better. Undeniably, Petal Punisher is one of the best Epic weapon skins in Apex Legends, and that's a fact.

Daemon Hunter

The Demon Hunter skin was introduced as a collection event skin back when Apex was celebrating its 4th birthday. And, honestly, it's one of the best collection event weapon skins that I've ever seen.

Physically, it doesn't change the form of the CAR SMG that much. The only real change that it implements is the inclusion of this sick anime decal on the side of the gun. If you're planning on going with a full anime aesthetic, I recommend you pair this skin with Wattson's Kawaii Kitty skin. It is one of the best Wattson skins after all. That way, not only will you be slaying your enemies, but you look cool while doing it.

Royal Gift

In the Middle Ages, kings and nobles would often send each other regal weaponry as gifts. This Apex Legends weapon skin is a reminder that that practice still lives on.

The thing that sets the Royal Gift skin apart from other skins is just how regal it looks. Most Legendary skins have a certain gimmick they try to appease, and the Royal Gift skin is no different. It looks like a one-of-a-kind weapon skin. Like the magnum opus of a master craftsman. A creation that comes once every millennium. Those are the reasons why I think this skin deserves to be counted among the best skins for the CAR SMG.

Skullcrusher

This skin goes hard!

In essence, the Skullcrusher is the same deal as with the Daemon Hunter skin. It doesn't change the basic form of the gun that much, it just gives it a really cool decal on the side. For the Skullcrusher, that's a flaming skull, which is a really hard image. I usually pair this skin with Octane's Hothead skin, which is one of the best Octane skins by the way. With those 2 skins combined, I know I'm the coolest player around... No wonder the enemy targets me then, I'm just too cool for them.

Rich Mahogany

Look at that smooth surface. It's rich lines. And the texture, ohh, the texture is to die for.

There's something about the Rich Mahogany skin that just carries a really comfy feeling with it. Whenever I'm in a room that has a lot of Mahogany objects, it carries me off to a different time and place. A more, "simpler" time. That's the beauty of this skin, it's simple but aesthetically pleasing. Of all the Legendary skins in Apex Legends, this one is probably the most relaxing. Which is something I never thought I'd say.

Fatal Flow

I'm a real big fan of the Cyberpunk aesthetic. The Fatal Flow skin for the CAR is just about the best skin in Apex Legends if you want to complete that aesthetic.

Probably the most interesting feature of this skin is the subtle shift in tones as the colors meld in the middle. On one end it's a bring red color, on the other end, it's meanie black. But as the colors start going towards the middle, they blend in a beautiful array. Coincidentally, the middle of the gun is also where you'll find the other bits and baubles that complete the cyberpunk aesthetic. All in all, it's a pretty cool skin.

Pastel Perfection

Last but not least, we have the Pastel Perfection. One of the most flamboyant Legendary skins in Apex Legends.

Personally, I don't like the Pastel Perfection skin that much. I prefer a much darker tone on my skins. Still, looking at it, it's undeniable that it's one of the best skins for the CAR SMG. The Pastel Perfection skin alters the CAR SMG by giving it a pastel recolor, as well as touching up a few of the weapon parts. For example, the iron sights are completely new and so is the stock.
