Best Octane Skins In Apex Legends That Make You Stand Out

Octane, what is there to say about this absolute legend. He was the first non-starter legend that was added to Apex Legends during its first season back in 2019. Apex Legends’ Octane was the first to break the ice in regards to DLC characters, and his success gave Respawn Entertainment enough incentive to continue expanding the game. Not only were his abilities one of the main reasons why aggressive players came to love him, but his personality also appealed to many. His Launch Pad in particular is a very popular gadget that some deem a critical part of every squad. Rather than focusing on his abilities, today we’ll be covering what we think are the best Octane skins in Apex Legends.

Speed Demon

The Speed Demon skin for Octane is not part of a specific Apex Legends Season Battle Pass or Event. It’s a legendary skin that can be crafted for 1200 Crafting Materials, or bought for 1800 Apex Coins when in the Apex Item Store.

This is one of the starter legendary skins for Octane, and it looks great! Concept Artists have a great time with Octane due to all of the cybernetic modifications his body has. This allows them to design the lower extremities in a more creative way. As for the rest of the outfit and mask, it all fits well and makes Octane look like a badass. Fortunately, this skin can be crafted through the Legends Menu, so you don’t have to worry about it not being in the store.

Red Shift

The Red Shift skin for Octane is not part of a specific Apex Legends Season Battle Pass or Event. It’s a legendary skin that can be crafted for 10500 Legend Tokens only if you have the “El Diablo” skin.

It’s safe to say that this might be one of the best-looking recolored skins for Octane. The Red Shift skin is a recolor of the “El Diablo” skin, which is also required in the crafting process. It’s better in every way, and that’s mainly due to the rich and royal color scheme that they went with here. The golden legs are such a nice touch. If you didn’t manage to catch it in the store during previous events, we’re sure that it will eventually return.

Gold Rush

The Gold Rush skin for Octane is not part of a specific Apex Legends Season Battle Pass or Event. It’s a legendary skin that can be crafted for 1200 Crafting Materials, or bought for 1800 Apex Coins when in the Apex Item Store.

The Gold Rush skin caters more towards Octane’s speedy nature. They drew inspiration from motorcycle suits for this skin, which is why the helmet fits the rest of the outfit well. The color scheme is the defining factor of this skin though. Black, white and gold naturally complement each other, so there was no way this skin could’ve turned out ugly. It will definitely make you stand out in-game. If you’ve got the crafting materials, we couldn’t recommend this skin more.

El Tigre

The El Tigre skin for Octane was released as part of the Season 8 Anniversary Collection Event in 2021. It’s a legendary skin that could’ve been crafted for 1200 Crafting Materials, or bought for 1800 (2000 when in a bundle) Apex Coins.

The El Tigre skin in Apex Legends

The El Tigre skin might be the best Octane skin there is, and here’s why. The theme of the outfit itself caters to Octane’s ethnical background and heritage. In terms of creativity, the design of this skin was marvelously executed, especially the tiger mask. The red, black and gold color scheme on the other hand is often seen with these Anniversary Collection skins. It’s hard to articulate, but in many ways this skin feels like the most fitting legendary skin for Octane. Here’s hoping it makes a return to the store.

Burn Out

The Burn Out skin was released as part of the Season 8 Anniversary Collection Event in 2021. It’s an Epic skin that could’ve been crafted for 400 Crating Materials, or bought for 1000 Apex Coins.

This is one of the better Epic skins that you can find for Octane. It’s very similar to the other Epic skins in the Anniversary Collection Event, and it definitely suits Octane perfectly. Although the legs aren’t gold-plated with this skin, they do seem to have painted them in a ruby-like color, which always works out great. We believe that this skin should’ve either been a part of the Twitch Prime Gaming Loot or the Apex Legends Octane Edition.

Laughing Fool

The Laughing Fool skin for Octane was released during the Black Friday Sale in 2019. It’s a legendary skin that could’ve been bought for 1800 Apex Coins.

The Laughing Fool skin, as the name suggests, focuses more on comedic effect than it does on style. I’m sure the Concept Artists over at Respawn Entertainment had a great time making this skin. It’s all-around goofy and serves as an escape from the serious side of Octane. It made a return on three separate occasions in the past, and we’re not quite sure if it’ll make a 4th reappearance.

Jade Tiger

The Jade Tiger skin for Octane was released as part of the Apex Legends Season 2 Battle Pass. It’s a legendary skin that could’ve been unlocked after getting to level 75 in the Battle Pass.

The Jade Tiger skin is hands down the rarest Octane skin out there. Due to the fact that it was released as early as Season 2 and looks as good as it does, it became one of the most sought-after Octane skins out there. The design is a masterpiece - jade and gold plates cover each part of the skin, making for a majestic piece of apparel. Many players are anxiously awaiting the return of this skin, and so are we.

Overdrive

The Overdrive skin for Octane was released as part of the Back to Black Sale in March 2023. It’s a legendary skin that could’ve been bought for 1800 Apex Coins.

The Overdrive skin is definitely more of an alternative skin when it comes to Octane. It’s apparent that they’ve tried to diverge from Octane’s rough exterior with this one. What they did emphasize was the minimalistic look he always has, but in a more modern way this time. This skin is honestly a refreshing change of aesthetic for Octane. It was in the store as recently as March, but we’re not sure the next time it will return.

Wild Speed

The Wild Speed skin for Octane was released as part of the Season 9 ALGS Store Sale in May 2021. It’s a legendary skin that could’ve been bought for 1800 (2500 if in a bundle) Apex Coins.

The Wild Speed skin is a direct reference to Octane’s ability to run at insane speeds. We have to admit, it’s a pretty appropriate skin for someone as fast as Octane. The cat-like mask is also a nice and fitting addition. The color scheme could’ve been better in our opinion, but other than that it lives up to its rarity status. It did return to the store in January of this year, but it hasn’t been seen since then.

XL-R8

The XL-R8 skin for Octane was released as part of the Apex Legends System Override Collection Event in 2020. It’s a legendary skin that could’ve been crafted for 2400 Crafting Materials, or bought for 1800 Apex Coins

The XL-R8 is something completely different in terms of style and theme. There are a couple of skins like this that were themed after the extraterrestrial, and funnily enough, it works with Octane. Everything from the weirdly-shaped leggings to the torso was well done, and you can notice the amount of detail that went into the process of designing it. As of now, it only returned to the store once in Season 9.

Sonic Boom

The Sonic Boom skin for Octane was released as part of the Apex Legends Season 6 Aftermarket Collection Event in 2020. It’s a legendary skin that could’ve been crafted for 2400 Crafting Materials, or bought for 1800 (2150 if in a bundle) Apex Coins.

The Sonic Boom skin in Apex Legends

The Sonic Boom skin is another alternative skin for Octane. It has nothing to do with his combat prowess and speed, but focuses more on a musical theme of sorts. It was featured with another similarly designed weapon skin in a bundle, and was fairly popular at the time of its release. The chance of it returning to the store is slim, but not non-existent.

Octane isn’t the only one with amazing skins, that’s why we’ve made lists for other similar legends. These are the following lists: the best Wraith skins in Apex Legends, the best Revenant skins in Apex Legends, the best Loba skins in Apex Legends, and finally, the best Ash skins in Apex Legends. What we mentioned is just the beginning - we have a whole list that showcases the top skins for each character in Apex Legends.

It’s apparent that Octane can run at insanely high speeds, but now we know he can do it in style as well.
