5 Worst Apex Legends Characters Ranked [Avoid These]

Ash

Speaking of Ash. She is undeniably one of the worst Legends if not outright the worst Legend in Apex Legends.

Ash was first introduced in Apex Legends Season 11. Back then, we couldn't believe our eyes. She looked so cool! Not only was she a robot, but she was also a ninja at the same time. Two of the coolest things ever. There's no way she could be bad, right? Wrong! She absolutely stinked in every possible way. Her Ultimate Ability was just a more conditional version of Wraith's and her Tactical was likewise doo-doo.

The only redeeming quality that Ash has is that she has quite a number of cool skins. Just look at the best Ash skins in Apex Legends and everything will be made clear. Having cool skins, however, is not enough. Honestly, Ash is one of those Legends that is in desperate need of a rework. Respawn Entertainment should probably give her another passive ability or rebalance her stats in some way. Cause in her current state, she's utter garbage.

Rampart

Rampart, Rampart, Rampart. Where do I even begin with Rampart...

Frankly, it's an undeniable fact that Rampart is one of the worst Legends in Apex Legends. Most players won't even bother disputing that. Her Tactical, Amped Cover, is the worst control ability in the game; as it does very little comparatively. Likewise, her Ultimate is a gimmick at best and situational at worst. Sure, it's cool to run around with a minigun. But are you actually being effective?

In defense of Rampart, at least she isn't as bad as Ash. With the right play style, you might even be able to win a few Battle Royale matches with her. It's just that she's mediocre on her best days, and useless on most other days. Even her skins are mediocre. Just look at some of the best Rampart skins in Apex Legends. Most of the legendaries look like Epics, and that's me being gracious. Just avoid her, you won't be missing out. Trust me.

Newcastle

I usually like to compare Newcastle to Arabian Prince. Sure, he was part of N.W.A, but nobody remembers him. It's the same with Newcastle. Sure, he's part of Apex Legends, but nobody plays him.

Newcastle's biggest problem is that he's just poorly designed. Something that's a prevailing issue with almost every Legend on this list. In theory, he's a great character. In practice, he's an amalgamation of the other Legends. His tactical is a rip-off of Rampart's Amped Cover, and his Ultimate is a weaker version of Gibraltar's Tactical.

It's usually for those reasons that Newcastle is considered one of the Worst Legends in Apex Legends. I swear, whenever I see a Newcastle on the enemy team, I'm stupified. Who in their right mind would willingly sabotage their teammates like that? Another thing that doesn't help him is the fact that his character hitbox is one of the biggest in the game, following Gibraltar of course. Just play Gib instead.

Vantage

As a concept, Vantage should be an amazing fit for a hero shooter such as Apex Legends. But just as a concept. In reality, she's one of the worst characters in the game.

The problem with Vantage is that she relies much too heavily on her gimmick. Her gimmick being that she's "the best sniper in the universe." Yeah right! In most cases, she's useless throughout the course of the entire game. Even on a good map like World's Edge, she still remains ineffective. Her Tactical ability is okay because it at least allows her to traverse the map. It's her Ultimate that's the real problem.

Vantage's Ultimate ability makes Vantage pull out her unique sniper. Sounds powerful, right? Wrong again. The problem here is that her signature sniper rifle isn't even the best sniper rifle in Apex Legends. What was Respawn Entertainment thinking!? They created a character whose entire gimmick is that they're the best sniper ever and then proceeded to make her the worst sniper in Apex Legends. What a joke.

Mad Maggie

I'm not mad that Mad Maggie exists (heh!). I'm just disappointed. She could have potentially been one of the best characters in the game. And yet, she ended up being one of the worst Legends instead.

Why is she one of the worst Legends you might ask? Here's why. Let's start with her Passive. Her Passive is only good so long as you're using shotguns. If you're not, congratulations. It's practically useless, as its second feature is garbage. Her tactical is supposed to be good at damaging enemies through walls, but its damage is so meager that the only thing it does is alert the enemies to your presence.

Finally, we have her Ultimate. Wrecking Ball is one of those abilities that look cool but are completely useless and ineffective. It's only useful so long as you use it indoors, and even then it's a gamble if it'll do much. The speed-bosting pads that it drops are kind of nice, but that's about it. Honestly, I try to stay away from Mad Maggie as much as I can. She has no synergy with the other Legends and is in general pretty boring to play. Just pick another Legend instead.
