Bruce Willis | Warzone

Infamous action star Bruce Willis makes an appearance not as a campaign character, but as one of his movie characters John McLane from Die Hard. Released as a character skin bundle for COD Warzone, only Willis' likeness, not voice, makes it into COD. 

Kiefer Sutherland | COD WAW

Famous for the hit TV shows 24 and Designated Survivor, along with many others, Kiefer Sutherland is a pretty major Hollywood celeb, and made his Call of Duty appearance in World at War as Sergeant Roebuck.

While a celebrity feature isn’t what makes a Call of Duty game great or awful - check our articles on the best COD games and the worst COD games for more on that - it is certainly fun seeing an awesome action hero pop up as a COD character.

Michael Rooker | COD BO

Best known for playing Yondu in Guardians of the Galaxy, Rooker is the final major Hollywood celebrity to appear in George A. Romero's film crew in Black Ops.

Bill Paxton | COD AW

Best known for his roles in Aliens, Apollo 13, and a host of other blockbusters, Paxton is Hollywood royalty.

Joining a star-studded cast, Paxton made his COD appearance in Exo-zombies (Advanced Warfare's zombies mode) as Kahn, head of research at Atlas.

Jimmy Kimmel | COD BO2

A very minor easter egg appearance, Jimmy Kimmel - the popular American late-night show host - appears briefly in Black Ops 2 playing himself.

Showing up in the background of scenes on different TVs, Kimmel can be seen talking about the in-game world events, and even has one of the characters on the show!

John Malkovich | COD WAW

Playing the main antagonist of Advanced Warfare's Exo-zombies mode, John Malkovich as Osmond "Oz" Ryan is a brilliant, terrifying performance.

Most known for films such as RED and Of Mice and Men, it was a pleasure to see such an amazing actor put in a brilliant COD zombies performance.

Helena Bonham Carter | COD BO4

The wicked witch Belatrix Lestrange in Harry Potter, along with a stellar record in other movies, Helena Bonham Carter is celebrity royalty. 

A dodgy psychic, con artist, and all-around shady character, Carter brings her usual wit and vitality to add a bit of extra fun to the Black Ops 4 Zombies DLC.

Jon Bernthal | COD AW

The Punisher himself, Jon Bernthal puts the pain onto the zombies in Advanced Warfare's exo-zombies mode, playing Jim Decker, the loudmouth soldier of the team.

Sylvester Stallone | Warzone

Part of the Rambo character Pack for Call of Duty Warzone, Sylvester Stallone technically only lends his likeness to COD, as there are no voice lines. 

Instead, this is more a celebrity appearance from Rambo himself, rather than Stallone.

Jason Statham | COD

It may come as no surprise to gamers that the popular action start Jason Statham has appeared in the Call of Duty franchise, appearing in Call of Duty long before it was cool in the very first COD game back in 2003.

Though his likeness isn’t very well captured (it was 2003 after all), his distinctive voice is clear in his role as Sergeant Waters, a core character in the British campaign. David Hasselhoff | COD IW

Also known as “The Hoff”, this celebrity once held the accolade for the most-watched man on TV and his appearance as a map DJ in Call of Duty Infinite Warfare’s Zombies map Zombies in Spaceland is certainly a fun easter egg to find.

Replacing another famous actor in Ed Harris, Michael Keaton smashed the role of Hudson out of the park in Black Ops 2. Famous for a range of acting roles such as Batman, Birdman, or the founder of McDonalds, Keaton really sells his role well.

Kit Harington | COD IW

The Game of Thrones sensation, Kit Harington swaps hero for villain as he goes from the very honourable Jon Snow to the despicable Admiral Salen Kotch. Acting as Call of Duty Infinite Warfare’s primary antagonist, Kotch leads the attack against Earth, causing havoc and mayhem.

Often left off lists, the now-disgraced Hollywood actor made an appearance in Call of Duty Advanced Warfare, playing the late-game antagonist of Jonothan Irons.

The UFC superstar and Irish legend Conor McGregor has also made a brief cameo in the Call of Duty franchise, appearing in Infinite Warfare.

McGregor motion-capped and provided voice lines for Bradley Fillion, a lower-ranking antagonist in the main campaign and an all-round dastardly guy.

Appearing as an operator bundle for the most recent COD Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer and Warzone 2, Pogba is essentially himself, decked out in tactical gear and some awesome sunglasses.

Also with their own operator bundle is Neymar, joining Pogba for the most recent COD Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer and Warzone 2.

Just like Pogba, Neymar is essentially himself geared up in tactical gear and cap.

One of football's biggest super-stars, Messi joins COD also with an operator bundle for COD Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer and Warzone 2, representing his country with an Argentinian football shirt.

Of course, to be safe he also has the tactical vest and the rest of the military gear you would expect on a COD operator.

The hero of David Cameron’s blockbuster hit Avatar, along with many other successful projects, out of every celebrity appearance Sam Worthington’s most definitely tops the list. 

Not only is he an amazing actor, but his role as the main protagonist Alex Mason in Call of Duty Black Ops is by far the biggest celebrity contribution to any Call of Duty game.
