What are the Worst Maps in Call of Duty? [TOP 5]
Over the course of its nearly 20-year FPS career, Call of Duty has included hundreds of different maps. Like any other multiplayer game, COD has some adored, some forgettable, and some downright disliked maps. There is a distinction between a map that is disliked and one that is simply awful.
In today's article, we will examine the least liked, that is, the worst maps in Call of Duty. In doing so, we will evaluate the map design, its convenience and, of course, whether it is enjoyable. Here are our selections for the top five worst Call of Duty maps.
Downturn (Modern Warfare 3)
When we compare Downtown to other maps, it is a map that we can call the best Call of Duty map because it is the least bad one. The averagely terrible map was included in the series with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. The biggest reason why this map is not liked is its design. Even if you have played this map many times, you still cannot figure out where you are due to its poor design.
While the idea of being on Wall Street sounds good, the entire map isn't good enough for Call of Duty. Players think that this map was a constant source of annoyance due to its fragmented bank, underground tunnels, and buildings with no potential to create chokepoints. Also the only reason to put this map in the highest rank is kill confirmed, a game mode that focuses on solo players roaming the map and killing.
Carrier (Black Ops 2)
Next up is Carrier, one of the other bad maps that entered our lives with Call of Duty: Black Ops 2. This whole map is a disaster and definitely a piece that should not have been in Call of Duty history. What keeps Carrier from being a great map is the fact that there are many camping spots for campers, unbalanced flag points and a few glitch errors. In fact, while the general idea of designing the map could have produced a good result, it was certainly not successful.
When you play this multiplayer map for the first time, you immediately realize that something is missing, and the gaming community is right to dislike this map. The obstacles all over the map are really unimaginative and spoil the fun of the game. Also it was over if your team was wiped out within the first two minutes. This doesn't give you any chance to comeback to the game. In short, this map is one of the worst among Call of Duty maps.
In the third place among the worst CoD maps, Strikezone welcomes us. This map, which was added to the game with Call of Duty: Ghosts, would be better if it was not added. When there are so many best maps in Call of Duty: Ghosts, it is incomprehensible how they made such a mistake. Lack of predictable spawning is the problem. Additionally, there isn't any close combat, thus everyone must use SMGs and sentry guns.
Especially this map was so poor in terms of aesthetics and appearance that it is not even worth playing. We can say that it is one of the most terrible maps in CoD history due to both its boring design and its mechanics. Strikezone's conical geometry and sub compartments make it challenging to control the map. If you tell a newcomer to play Strikezone for the first time, they will most likely not enter the game again. So for us and for most players, Strikezone is a huge NAH.
Wasteland (Modern Warfare 3)
Wasteland, which is among the shittiest maps that can't even go near being a good map, was unfortunately presented to us with Modern Warfare 3. This map, which is a waste as the name suggests, is notable for being unplayable among all the great maps in Modern Warfare. It provides little protection, has a single underground chamber with limited hold points and open sights for grenade launchers, and is situated in an exposed Chernobyl field.
These head-ghosting snipers hidden behind the houses, underground grenade launchers, and overpowered kill streaks from which there is no cover. Nobody likes game modes with sniper fire everywhere. When we look at a game with more balanced and good maps like Advanced Warfare, we see few maps with such problems. Apart from that, you can't move comfortably on the map and the design is terrible. If you ask how a worst map is, we can definitely say Wasteland because there is nothing good on the map. Although Modern Warfare 3 has one of the best campaigns of Call of Duty, it doesn't seem like it could deliver what was wanted on this map. That's why Wasteland is a worst map that you really don't want to play.
Stonehaven (Ghosts) The Worst Map!
Now it's time for the worst of the Call of Duty maps and the one that no one likes: Stovehaven. Infinity Ward, Cold War, Modern Warfare, forget it all! Because Call of Duty: Ghosts is by far the game with the worst map. This Call of Duty map, which is huge and open, is not the kind that most players would like. Because it is so open, snipers are given a big chance and the balance of the game is disturbed. Stonehaven is one of the biggest maps in Call of Duty.
Maybe even this is the only reason for players to hate this map. Actually, the design of the map is very good, but if you ask a Call of Duty player whether it's appearance or gameplay, you can guess what the answer is. If you are not playing sniper on this map, there is no point in playing at all because you will die in seconds. Who would want to play the mechanics on such a crappy map? You can't find a single place to hide because of the abundant empty space on the map. As a result, in our opinion the worst map is definitely Stovehaven.
Today we discussed with you which are the worst maps in Call of Duty. Of course, there are many more maps to add to the list, but we think these are the top 5. But do you enjoy playing these maps? Don't forget to share your thoughts with us! Take care.
