Kaedehara Kazuha
Kazuha's elemental skill has two versions - tap and hold. Both prepare Kazuha for a plunging attack that swirls nearby elements. In my opinion, this makes him one of the most fun characters to play in Genshin Impact. Imagine all the exploring you can do with him!
His elemental burst creates a whirlwind in a small area around him, periodically swopping in with an anemo slash, damaging all enemies caught inside. If the whirlwind comes into contact with another element that it can do swirl reactions with (e.g. pyro, cryo, electro, or hydro), then the whirlwind will absorb that respective element.
Venti
Venti has a unique kit that allows him to create a vertical wind current when holding his elemental burst. When executed, all enemies around him when channeling will get uplifted, and slowly descend from the fall. You can also use your wind glider to gain some elevation through this method! The tap version of his elemental skill summons a smaller area of wind in front of him, uplifting enemies as well.
Venti's elemental burst is truly one-of-a-kind. When activated, Venti plants a vacuuming black hole in a considerably wide area in front of him, dealing anemo damage at roughly every second. If the black hole comes into contact with another element that can be swirled, then the black hole will be infused with that element and start dealing that respective element's damage instead of anemo. This allows Vanti to synergize well with the VV 4-piece artifact set bonus.
Wanderer
Wanderer, who used to be known as Scaramouche, is the latest Anemo DPS (Damage Per Second) character that excels in one-on-one combat. He also relies on infusing another element that anemo can do swirl reactions with. Here is my simplified version of his passive:
- Hydro: Elemental skill stamina cap increases by 20.
- Pyro: Attack increases by 30%.
- Cryo: Critical rate increases by 20%.
- Electro: When normal and charged Attacks hit enemies, 0.8 Energy will be restored, where it is made possible every 0.2 seconds.
When using Wanderer's elemental skill, he enters his Windfavored state, where he hovers above the ground. He then gains a special stamina bar that allows him to be hovering - using his charged attacks will spend additional stamina. While in this state, he deals an increased amount of charged and normal attacks, so you'll be busy mashing your mouse!
Wanderer's elemental burst is where his AoE kicks in, dealing a big chunk of anemo damage to surrounding enemies, so make sure to click it when a bunch of enemies are surrounding you!
Sucrose
Sucrose, our shy Mondstadt alchemist, is a four-star catalyst wielder who boasts an amazing support kit that entrails elemental mastery for the whole team.
Sucrose's elemental skill allows her to throw a flask in front of her, unleashing a current of wind that lifts opponents momentarily, while her elemental burst summons a large anemo butterfly that periodically blasts a current of anemo damage over time.
With her multiple buffs, I think it's a good enough reason some of the most popular Genshin Impact YouTubers and Streamers have her on the largest damage showcases (do you know how to see your highest damage in Genshin Impact?)
Xiao
The fifth anemo character is the loyal adeptus Xiao, an anemo DPS character who is more than capable of dealing AoE damage to his opponents. But there's a catch - he uses his own life force to wipe out his enemies. Talk about commitment!
Xiao's elemental skill allows him to a quick burst of anemo damage, providing him with the energy he needs to activate his elemental burst. It's good if you need a short burst of damage.
The mechanic buff provided by Xiao's elemental burst makes him shine. His elemental burst allows Xiao to jump significantly higher - enough for a plunge attack. As he strikes the ground with his plunge attack, myriads of spears impale enemies from below, dealing massive AoE anemo damage.
Jean
Acting Grandmaster Jean scores sixth on this ranking. With an interesting elemental skill and supportive elemental burst, she sees purpose in many team compositions!
Jean's elemental skill has the tap and hold version. Tapping her skill will allow you to thrust enemies into the air while holding her skill allows her to pull surrounding enemies around her and group them together before doing the same thrust.
Jean's elemental burst leaves a lingering anemo field that heals allies inside the area and deals anemo damage. Her passive talent also allows her to regain 20% energy after using her elemental burst, allowing her to become the perfect anemo battery character.
Sayu
The cute lazing ninja Sayu rolls in at seventh. Sayu is in a debatable spot regarding what she really does, however, I classify her as an anemo support character who helps with exploration, catching crystalflies, and a focus on survivability.
Sayu's elemental skill allows Sayu to start rolling around the ground, gaining an anemo aura. When she comes into contact with another element during her rolling stance, she can infuse herself with that element, allowing her to execute swirl reactions.
For her elemental burst, Sayu summons a daruma to help her in combat, allowing her to deal anemo damage while healing your currently active party member.
Lynette
The newest anemo character introduced to Genshin Impact is another zooming character that can help with damage output and exploration comes eighth on our list.
Lynette's elemental skill is similar to Sayu's, however, when using it, she loses a fraction of her health. But with her, Sayu, and Yelan in an exploration team, she really does speed things up on land.
Lynettee's elemental burst summons a magician's hat that spews out anemo projectiles, damaging enemies with the anemo element. Depending on her party members and their elements, she can also swirl the corresponding elements if possible.
Heizou
The One Punch Man of Genshin Impact, Heizou the catalyst anemo user places ninth. He's known for cool consecutive strikes from his normal attack chain.
Heizou's elemental skill is chargeable so you can tap or hold it for up to a certain period. For a 4-star character, I'd say he has one of the more powerful elemental skills as with the right buffs, Heizou has the potential to deal massive damage.
Heizou's elemental burst kicks off a huge gust of air, sending it to the enemies' faces. It can push enemies back due to its sheer attack power. Although still powerful, knocking enemies bigger than Heizou might not be possible.
Faruzan
Faruzan is a premium, niche, anemo support that is solely created for buffing anemo characters to the max. Her sole existence is purely for anemo characters and them alone. With that, she ranks tenth on our list.
Faruzan's elemental skill deploys a polyhedron on the field that deals anemo damage. She will then enter a state that allows her to charge up her next charged shot within a shorter amount of time, dealing anemo damage while also creating a small suction, pulling enemies together.
Her elemental burst allows Faruzan to deploy a larger polyhedron that travels in a triangular path, dealing a considerable amount of anemo damage. With her talent, enemies that are affected by her elemental burst and enhanced charged shot will have their anemo resistance reduced.
Anemo Traveler
The anemo traveler comes in last on our list. Being the first character that we can play the traveler has been outclassed in almost every aspect by other characters that have been released in Genshin Impact.
The anemo traveler's elemental skill can be held or tapped. Tapping activates an anemo vortex that deals continuous anemo damage while continuing to hold it allows you to pull enemies towards you. The anemo vortex can also absorb the first element it comes into contact with.
Anemo traveler's elemental burst whirls up a mini tornado up front. While the tornado is active, it can absorb a swirl-able element once. Although it's cool, current enemies are immune to knockback and are agile, so it's hard for the tornado to really manifest itself on the enemies.
