How To Get Overwatch 2 OWL Tokens

One of the rare opportunities to get Overwatch team skins is through Overwatch League Tokens, otherwise known as OWL Tokens. Blizzard Entertainment is trying its best to promote Overwatch 2, and live Overwatch league matches are one of the ways to accomplish that.

However, in order to attract more viewers to live Overwatch league matches, Blizzard Entertainment has come up with a strategy - giving away Overwatch League Tokens to those who are watching games using a YouTube account.

So what exactly does it take to earn Overwatch League tokens, and how can you do it? Stick around to find out.

What Are OWL Tokens?

Overwatch League Tokens (OWL Tokens) are reward-based tokens implemented by Activision Blizzard to reward its users. These tokens can be used to purchase team skins in Overwatch, where each basic skin costs exactly 100 Overwatch League Tokens, while OWL All Stars and Championship skins will cost you 200 OWL Tokens.

At the moment of releasing OWL Tokens in 2020, the only way of obtaining them was by watching the official Overwatch League matches on a mobile app or official website. However, nowadays, OWL Tokens can be earned by watching Overwatch League on YouTube.

Every hour spent watching live matches will award players with five League Tokens, and the view time is accumulated, which means that it's possible to accumulate OWL Tokens from multiple sessions rather than just one.

How To Get OWL Tokens In Overwatch 2?

Firstly, you will need a YouTube account, other than a Battle.net account, if you wish to earn League Tokens. Regardless of whether you're a PC or a console player, the principle is the same for everyone.

To proceed, make sure to connect your YouTube with your Battle.net account using the "Connected Apps" option found in Settings on YouTube.

Alternatively, you can open the Overwatch League live stream on YouTube and click on the rewards icon found at the bottom.

Once you've connected your accounts, simply watch Overwatch 2 league streams on YouTube and collect at least 100 OWL Tokens, for which you'll need to spend 20 hours. You can choose between English, French, or Korean official Overwatch League streams, and as soon as you've accumulated 100 OWL Tokens, you'll be able to exchange them for one of the available Overwatch 2 skins.

Lastly, make sure to follow the official Overwatch League schedule, so you don’t miss any upcoming streams and your opportunity to earn OWL Tokens!

How To Redeem OWL Tokens?

Redeeming OWL Token is quite straightforward, and you'll be able to do it in just a few steps. Here's what you'll need to do:

  1. Open the Battle Net client, and make sure you're signed in with your Battle.net account.

  2. Click on the drop-down menu from the upper right corner, found next to your username and avatar.

  3. Click the "Redeem A Code" option, found at the bottom of the drop-down menu.

  4. Now, paste the Overwatch League token code you've previously received into this field, and click on the "Redeem Code."

Now that you've redeemed your code, feel free to exchange your OWL Tokens for any skin available and stand out from other players without spending a dime!
