How to Get Free Skins in Overwatch 2

The Overwatch series of video games can be viewed as one of the first series' to properly monetize in-game items and make microtransactions what they are today. Naturally, this is a system that incentivized players to play the game more, and being able to own an inventory with dozens of skins was very sought-after. The birth of Overwatch 2 only further expanded upon that system of cosmetics, and people have grown more interested in finding a way to get free hero skins and other items.
Through Overwatch 2 League Play-Offs
Given how Overwatch 2 is still quite a new game, there aren't many ways to get free overwatch skins. However, Overwatch's eSports scene does have certain events that will allow you to get free skins and league tokens. Players that have watched the most recent overwatch league play-offs can get up to 35 free overwatch league skins for their heroes.

Not only will you unlock free hero skins during these overwatch league play-offs, but you'll also be able to unlock league tokens, sprays, and icons. In order to start earning skins whilst watching these play-off streams, you're going to need to connect your YouTube account to your Battle.net account and then watch the league play-offs livestream.
Here's how you can connect your YouTube to your Battle.net account:
- Log in to your Gmail and go to YouTube
- Click on your Profile Picture and select on 'Settings'
- Go to 'Connected Apps'
- Select the Battle.net option and click 'Connect'
- Follow the required steps
- Once you're connected to your Battle.net account, you'll need to watch the official Overwatch League playoffs livestream in order to get free in-game items
Furthermore, you'll get five league tokens per hour. These free rewards can be spent on things like the lucio dance party emote or Overwatch 2 league skins from the store. Although the overwatch league playoffs may have already ended by the time you read this, Activision blizzard will likely host similar events in the future.

Through the Battle Pass
As with every battle pass in online games, Overwatch 2's battle pass includes a couple of really cool rewards that you can earn by simply playing the game. There is a free part of the Battle Pass that you can level up by just getting in-game score and playing matches. You'll also be able to earn Overwatch coins that you can later buy a skin with in the store.

However, skins aren't only limited to the battle pass and store. There's also a chance for you to get a free skin via Twitch drops if you watch a Twitch stream. Granted, the free skins you can receive may not look good, but they're skins nonetheless.
One last thing before we go - topics like this will always come with scams and various deceptive practices on the internet. Make sure to not fall for any scams regarding Blizzard gift cards and free hero skins in Overwatch. GPT websites may not get you these skins instantly, but they are a great step in the right direction for many people that can't afford to spend money on skins.
With that being said, there's much more to learn about Activision Blizzard and their games. Be sure to check out our guides on how to get free COD Points, and the best campaign mission in COD.
