Charizard

One of the best Pokemon of all time, Charizard has an enduring popularity with fans. Its ready availability makes it easy to use, and it makes one of the best Bug type counters thanks to its two advantageous types, being a Fire/Flying Pokemon.

Charizard

Charizard only takes a quarter of the damage from Bug type attacks thanks to its Flying and Fire types, while getting access to all three of the Bug type Pokemon weaknesses for dealing super effective damage.

Whether it's with Rock moves like Rock Tomb and Rock Slide, Fire moves like Fire Blast, Fire Fang, and Flare Blitz, or Flying attacks like Fly and Air Slash, Charizard has got you covered.

Mega Charizard Y

It's also got two exclusive Mega Evolutions, although Mega Charizard Y is better at taking on Bug types.

So it's easy to see why Charizard is the best counter to Bug type Pokémon!

Togekiss

Happy, cute, and carefree, Togekiss is a great choice of Pokemon in many different scenarios. It's one of the best Fairy type Pokemon, but as a Flying type, it's pretty great too.

Togekiss

Using Ancient Power, Togekiss can hit with Rock damage, while it has a whole slew of Flying type moves like Sky Attack and Air Slash. But Togekiss even gets Fire moves like Flamethrower, Mystical Fire, and Fire Blast.

Talk about super effective damage! For a cute little bird, Togekiss has massive utility.

Cinderace

Cinderace is a popular final evolution to a super cute Fire type starter Pokemon, but its popularity is well-earned. Cinderace with the Libero Hidden Ability can get STAB for all their attacks, making Cinderace a fantastic option in a range of scenarios.

Cinderace

With its flexible movepool, Cinderace with Libero can hit hard for all three of the Bug type Pokémon weaknesses.

With Flying move Acrobatics, Rock move Smack Down, or its many Fire moves, Cinderace has just what it needs in battle.

But Cinderace's movepool is even better than just that, since it has a wide range of options to cover other Pokémon types too, meaning it can also hit hard on Bug dual type Pokemon!

Gigantamax Cinderace

Cinderace gets a totally scorching Gigantamax form with an exclusive G-Move, too! All this means it's easily one of the best counters to Bug type Pokemon.

Aerodactyl

One of the original Fossil Pokémon, Aerodactyl is a great choice to use against Bug type Pokemon.

Both of its types do double damage to Bug type Pokemon and grant Aerodactyl a resistance to Bug type moves, which hit for only half damage.

Aerodactyl

This prehistoric Pokemon has a great moveset too, with good access to Rock and Flying type moves like Rock Slide and Brave Bird to hit for super effective damage, while also having good coverage options in wide-ranging types such as Fire, Steel, Ice, and even Dragon and Psychic types.

If that wasn't enough, Aerodactyl can Mega Evolve into the frankly terrifying Mega Aerodactyl where it gains a set of ferocious spikes and a massive power up. Aerodactyl is easily one of the best counters to Bug type Pokemon there is.
