The 10 Coolest Hisuian Form Pokemon [Ranked]

1 /10

Hisuian Zoroark

Hisuian Zoroark is, quite simply, a masterpiece design for me that elevates the original form far beyond what it was. One of the earliest Hisuian variant forms released to fans, H-Zoroark was an immediate success.

And Zoroark was already an extremely popular Pokémon! It's also one of the best fox Pokemon!

Hisuian Zoroark

But in my opinion Hisuian Zoroark has the much better design along with a much better typing of Normal and Ghost types, swapping out its Dark typing for this much nicer combination. This dual typing gives H-Zoroark three useful immunities too, making it a great option in battle.

And this Hisuian variant just has an awesomely stunning design, building on the original design but giving it a nice bit of ghostly flair. It evolves from Hisuian Zorua, which is totally cute and adorable, also with a fresh new look.

The lore of Hisuian Zorua and Zoroark is quite sad, but that just gives the Pokemon a little extra depth.

Its great type combination and winning design make it the best Hisuian form Pokemon!

2 /10

Hisuian Goodra

Goodra on its own is a powerful pseudo-Legendary Pokémon with a whole lot of utility in game. Its design as a weird gooey slug dragon is admittedly a bit out there, but I like it because it's a nice new take on Dragon Pokémon.

But Hisuian Goodra builds on this design by gaining the Steel typing and becoming a draconic snail in Pokemon Legends Arceus.

Hisuian Goodra

That's pretty cool. And its new Steel type gives it a much needed boost when it comes to dealing with Fairy type Pokémon, so it's a useful type to have.

Hisuian Goodra is pretty slow, but its great Attack stat, Special Attack stat, and wonderful defensive stats make it a great choice in battle. Hisuian Goodra evolves from Hisuian Sliggoo, although poor little Goomy didn't get its own Hisuian variant.

Still, H-Goodra is easily one of the best Hisuian forms, so it's got a well-earned spot on this list. It's also one of the best Dragon type Pokemon!

3 /10

Hisuian Arcanine

When I saw Hisuian Arcanine in The Battle of the Badge I immediately loved it. The redesign isn't quite as bold as some other regional variants, but it freshens up an old design without losing the core of what made it great. Based on ancient Chinese legends, the Hisuian form of Arcanine definitely looks the part.

Even its pre-evolved form got a whole new look as a Hisuian Pokémon in the form of Hisuian Growlithe!

Hisuian Arcanine

Gaining the Rock type, Hisuian Arcanine is admittedly now doubly weak to Water and Ground type moves. But this new weakness comes along with a brand new set of Rock type moves like Stone Edge, as well as a powerful Hidden Ability in Rock Head.

Rock Head prevents recoil from moves like Close Combat or Flare Blitz, meaning Hisuian Arcanine can use these powerful attacks without worrying! Pretty nice. Like many things about Pokemon Legends Arceus, Hisuian Arcanine a refreshing thing to see, a nice new step for Game Freak.

Arcanine is also one of the best Fire type Pokemon!

4 /10

Hisuian Decidueye

Hisuian Decidueye is the fully evolved form of Rowlet, and it's got a super fun design. Swapping its Ghost typing for the Fighting type instead, Hisuian Decidueye fits a whole new niche in the Hisui region.

Hisuian Decidueye has a much more focused stat spread than its Alolan counterpart, putting more of its base stats into its Attack stat. This is much more useful given its new type combination.

Hisuian Decidueye

And honestly, H-Decidueye just has a really great design. It's an unusual Pokémon but it's a great choice, and looks good too. Its Signature Move, Triple Arrows, even has the secondary effect of decreasing its opponent's Defense stat!

Decidueye is even one of the best Grass type Pokemon. This Hisuian Pokemon is just great, with a kooky design that makes playing Pokemon Legends Arceus a real treat.

5 /10

Hisuian Typhlosion

Typhlosion has always been a popular Pokémon even if its utility hasn't quite matched up. Still, Hisuian Typhlosion is a step in the right direction as it gains the powerful Ghost type in the Hisui region.

The overall design of Hisuian Typhlosion isn't quite as bold as it could have been, swapping its normal flames for a slightly spookier variant instead, but it's a classic design and does a great job of showing off its new type combination.

Hisuian Typhlosion

I picked Cyndaquil for my starter Pokémon in Pokémon Legends Arceus, and I was not disappointed at all in its evolution. As regional variants go, it adds something new while respecting the original design.

H-Typhlosion gets a fantastic Signature Move, Infernal Parade, which has a chance to Burn its opponents and even has double the power if the opponent is affected by a status condition.

Definitely a great new form for Typhlosion! It even puts a few extra points into its Special Attack, which is nice considering its movepool.

6 /10

Hisuian Lilligant

Hisuian Lilligant has a cute new look to go along with its great new typing. Already a very elegant and sophisticated Pokémon, the Hisuian regional form of Lilligant eschews the leafy dresses and beret of its original form in favor of a much more practical look.

This new look is ironically much more modern in feel than its usual form, but it's a great choice and really stands out.

Hisuian Lilligant

But Hisuian Lilligant isn't just a pretty face. It has a great Attack stat and a great Speed stat, while also getting a brand new Signature Move in the form of Victory Dance, which raises Hisuian Lilligant's Attack, Defense, and Speed stats all at the same time!

7 /10

Hisuian Sneasel

One of a number of Pokémon in Pokémon Legends Arceus which got a brand new Hisuian Pokémon as an evolution, Hisuian Sneasel has two totally different types compared with its original form. Instead of the Ice and Dark types, it has the Fighting and Poison types.

Hisuian Sneasel

But it doesn't stop there for little Sneasel, as its new evolution Sneasler has an unusual design and even served as one of the ride Pokemon for Pokemon Legends Arceus.

Sneasler doesn't have quite as regal a look as Weavile, Johtonian Sneasel's evolution, but it's got just the right amount of sass and attitude to be equally as cool.

8 /10

Hisuian Basculin

The Ghost type saw a whole lot of love during Pokémon Legends Arceus and Hisuian Basculin is one of the Hisuian variants which benefited from it the most.

Technically called White-Striped Basculin, this new form of Basculin improves on the original by giving it a super awesome new evolution into brand new Pokémon, Basculegion.

White Striped Basculin

Like many fans I'd long thought that Basculin was a bit underwhelming, lacking the stats to be particularly effective in many situations let alone competitive play!

But Basculegion rescues this poor little fish and ironically gives it a whole new life.

9 /10

Hisuian Samurott

Hisuian Samurott breathes new life into Samurott, a Pokémon which many fans considered a bit disappointing. The redesign is nice, staying true to the normal design while also telegraphing its new Dark type.

As someone who enjoyed Samurott's original design Hisuian Samurott hits all the right notes for me, giving something just different enough to be satisfying when playing through Pokemon Legends Arceus.

Hisuian Samurott

H-Samurott gets a great new Signature Move, Ceaseless Edge, which has a better chance to land a critical hit.

Its new typing gives it a bunch of new weaknesses, and its stat spread could be much more efficient. But that doesn't really seem to matter because it's fun to use and looks great.

10 /10

Hisuian Qwilfish

Hisuian Qwilfish is one of a handful of Hisuian variants which, instead of evolving into an existing Pokémon, evolves into a brand new Pokémon instead!

This is a nice touch, as many fans felt like Qwilfish was missing something big. In Pokémon Legends Arceus, Hisuian Qwilfish can evolve into Overqwil, a new Hisuian Pokemon after using Poison type move Barb Barrage in the Strong Style 20 times.

Hisuian Qwilfish

Overqwil is a fantastic evolution for Hisuian Qwilfish, taking its angry little pufferfish design to the next level. I was never much of a fan of Qwilfish, but Overqwil made me take another look at it in Pokémon Legends Arceus.

Overqwil has an epic design and without little Hisuian Qwilfish, we wouldn't have got it!
