The majority of Roblox players spend real money in-game to buy virtual accessories for their avatars. This may be just to flaunt a brand-new top hat that just got launched. But you'd be surprised by the fact that the accessories in Roblox have become more of a collector's item. Thanks to the limited items which have a unique code for every piece sold, Roblox players have started to collect these items just for their rarity alone.
For over a decade, people all over the world have indulged in the different games inside this single title. The trading system in Roblox keeps people hooked, rewarding them with a burst of dopamine whenever they acquire a new item.
That's all well and good, but how exactly does the trading system work in Roblox? What are the prerequisites for trading? Most importantly, how can you enable trading for your Roblox profile page? Let's find out!
What are the prerequisites of trading in Roblox?
Before you can start trading items in Roblox, you need to tick a few checkboxes.
Buy the Roblox Premium membership
While there is no restriction to buying items directly from the store, a premium membership is needed in order to trade items.
The premium membership in Roblox has three tiers:
Premium 450: $4.99 per month. 450 Robux are rewarded every month
Premium 1000: $9.99 per month. 1000 Robux are rewarded every month
Premium 2200: $9.99 per month. 2200 Robux are rewarded every month
The trading system is unlocked in all three membership plans. Along with that, premium membership allows added benefits like discounts on items and Robux purchases, as well as access to premium games and levels.
Enable the trading option from your account settings
In order to prevent users from receiving spam trade offers, the developers gave the option to turn off the trading system for your Roblox account.
Once turned off, you won't be able to trade in Roblox, nor will you be able to send a trade request.
If you find that the Make Offer button is locked out, despite you being a Roblox Premium member, then the most probable culprit is the enable trading option, which is turned off. Turning it on should allow you to make new trades.
Having access to high-demand items
Items in Roblox can be common or rare. Common items don't grab a whole lot of attention and consequently lead to very few interested buyers.
Buying limited can sometimes cost you a lot of money. Knowing the prices of Robux can help you make an informed decision.
If the above two issues are solved, yet you fail to receive a trade offer, then it's probably because the stuff that you own doesn't attract a lot of people. You can fix that by obtaining more premium items from the shop, or by trading with another player.
Do watch out for beamers, as they have a keen eye for rare items and will try getting them off your hands through illegitimate ways.
How to activate trading in Roblox?
Once you have a premium membership, the next obvious step is to set up your profile to allow the trading of items.
In order to do this, follow these steps:
Go into Settings: Open Roblox on whatever device you have access to, and navigate over to the homepage. From here, click on the Settings button on the top right to open a drop-down menu. Select the Settings button again to open the My Settings page.
Privacy Menu: Once you're on the My Settings menu, navigate over the Privacy tab, which you can find on the banner on the left-hand side of the page.
Turn on Trading: In the Privacy menu, you'll find a drop-down menu under the " Who can trade with me" option. If you click on it, you'll find multiple options from which you can pick the one you prefer.
These are the options that you'll have to choose from:
Friends, Users I Follow, And Followers
Friends and Users I Follow
If you go with All Users, you will be able to receive a lot more trade offers as compared to the other options. Try going for it when you want maximum publicity and want to trade items quickly.
If you follow these steps properly, the trading option should be unlocked for you, and you will freely be able to trade with other players.
