How to Solve the Roblox Game Pass Error (Fixed)

When attempting to load game passes, there's a very common error where Roblox fails to load it and instead gives you a pop up error message on your screen. The message asks you to please try again later, but waiting almost never makes error messages go away unless it's a problem with the server.

Because this message is such a common one, there are several fixes that Roblox players have discovered over the years. However, because this is an internal error, the usual uninstall and reinstall fix that seems to work for other games does not apply here, much like another internal server error: the avatar page error.

Method #1: Ensure There Isn't any Server related Issue

Oftentimes, the only reason this issue pops up is that the Roblox servers are messing up at the time. To check if this is the case, go to either the official Roblox game server status website or a similar external website such as downdetector or “is it down right now”. There, see if other players have reported similar issues with their own game.

Additionally, several such websites will also tell you of the status of the game server. Whether the issue has been detected, if it's being worked on, or if the team will need extra time to work on it to get rid of it completely. Server related issues cause several other errors, such as Roblox error code 279, which states the Roblox connection attempt failed.

Method #2: Check your internet connection

Another very common reason this unexpected error occurred is a faulty internet connection. To make sure this isn't the case with you, try troubleshooting your internet connection by trying it out with other apps and websites to see if you get a problem streaming data.

If you do, then you might either have to contact your internet service provider to get the issue fixed, since it is caused by a weak internet connection, or if you're connected to a wireless connection, see if you can switch to a wired one instead. More than half of the Roblox game errors are caused because of a faulty internet connection, such as the very common game pass loading error where the game isn't able to load game passes.

internet connection

Additionally, it might be worth connecting to a completely different internet connection as well, granted you have access to it of course. Try using either

  • Your neighbor’s wifi

  • Using your mobile internet

  • If you have a laptop, taking it to a library or any other area with public wifi.

Method #3: Make Sure The URL is Correct

Finally, while rare, some players accidentally attempt to view game passes using the internet archive website instead of the official Roblox game store. Attempting to connect to an old page that has been taken down or locked might give you this HTTP error or other unexpected client behavior.

To do this, simply go to the actual Roblox website, and log into your Roblox account. From here, search for the game pass in the search bar at the top. This way, you hopefully won't get that generic error message again.

Method #4: Try Browser related troubleshoots

Similar to the maximum friends error, the Roblox game webpage tends to glitch out from time to time, leading to errors popping up when they shouldn't. Because of this, it is recommended that you do everything listed below

Clear Browser Cache

Oftentimes, the reason for the Roblox website (and other websites as well) behaving oddly is that the browser cache needs to be cleared. To do so on the Google Chrome browser

  1. Launch the Google Chrome browser

  2. Click on the three dots at the top right hand corner of the screen

  3. Hover over 'more tools', after which more options will pop up

  4. From the new options, click on 'clear browsing data' which will lead you to a new tab

  5. In the new tab, select the three boxes in front of you (clear browsing history, cookies and other data, and clear cached images and files) and ensure the time range is set to all time.

  6. Finally, click on the blue clear data button and wait for the process to be completed, after which all you'll have to do is restart the browser just in case.

Keep in mind that the above steps were only for the Google Chrome browser, although other browsers such as Mozilla Firefox have similar features.

Try Using a Different Browser

While rare, the issue you're facing might have been caused by a glitch in your browser. You can confirm whether or not this is the case by downloading a different, temporary browser and seeing if you can load game passes when using that browser.

If you are able to do so, then you might have to uninstall and reinstall your primary browser to get it to work properly again.
