How To Disable Proximity Chat In Warzone 2.0
Although a fun feature at times, constant static, screaming, and trash talking from unseen players can get really annoying. Here is how to turn it off.
Bringing back that old-school Call of Duty feel, Activision has the new feature of proximity chat to Call of Duty Modern Warfare II, as well as adding proximity chat in Warzone 2.0.
This proximity chat is not quite the same as normal voice chat, as it allows players to speak to teammates and enemies within 55 in-game metres. Being able to hear nearby enemies can be a massive advantage in Warzone 2.0, but don't forget that the proximity chat works both ways.
If you leave the proximity chat option on in Warzone 2.0, players will also be able to hear you and your friends when talking through the in-game voice chat.
Where To Find & Turn Off Proximity Chat
Luckily for those who want to get rid of proximity chat in warzone 2, it is quite an easy setting to find. Here is what you need to do.
- While in the lobby, open the settings menu
- Scroll to the "audio" settings tab
- Scroll down to the "voice chat" section
- Turn off proximity chat in warzone 2 by toggling off the proximity chat feature

How to Hear The Enemy Without Them Hearing You
There are two ways to do this while playing on Al Mazrah - the first method, and probably the best is to disable proximity chat as shown above, and have conversations with friends via a separate app, whether it's discord or a normal phone call.
If you want to stay purely in the game, you can leave proximity chat in warzone 2 on while you play, and instead enable push to talk. This means you will automatically be muted unless you push to talk, at which point teammates and enemies will be able to hear you.
To do this, simply locate "Microphone Activation Mode" in the audio tab of settings as above, and toggle from "open Mic" to "Push-to-talk".
