How Does The Circle Mechanic Work In Warzone 2.0 [Explained]

In its basic form, the circle mechanic in Warzone 2.0 is not significantly different from what we found in the original Warzone. There is simply a circle of gas that closes around the map, eliminating more and more space in which players can fight. What is new, however, is the random element introduced into the mechanics.

The circle may split into two, three, or even four smaller circles, and it all happens randomly. These smaller circles operate independently, but over time they will begin to merge, again forming a single, large field. That said, thanks to the circle mechanics in Warzone 2.0, players must now be more aware and tactical to end their game with a victory.

First of all, we would recommend you to avoid the edges. This is a strategy that new players and CoD Warzone bots often use; some try to record gameplay for highlights, and then they die... ironic. Well, in Warzone 2.0 it's a super risky thing to do, even riskier than in Warzone 1 due to the dynamic changes in circles, especially if you don't even try to predict where the circles may merge.

Secondly, keep in mind that circles may force you to move a lot more dynamically, and therefore, using vehicles will be key. However, watch out for fuel consumption, which is limited. Moreover, due to the dynamic changes in the circles, you need to be ready to quickly exit the vehicle and walk. Yeah, doesn't sound like fun, especially that it's all random, and I personally suggest constantly monitoring the map and being ready to quickly change your position

Lastly, we have to mention that, in extreme cases, you can stay in the gas circle for a while if you have a gas mask. This gives you some opportunity to flank on the enemy and grab a sweet frag. However, this tactic also requires full awareness of the mask's duration and the location of the nearest stores where a new mask can be purchased. If used well, a gas mask can be not only a defensive measure, but also a tool for aggressive and surprising maneuvers like slide canceling.
