Removing Obstacles

The most common way to earn gems for new Clash of Clans players is to remove obstacles from your base. Obstacles include Mushrooms, Logs, Bushes, Trees, and Gem Boxes.

Removing obstacles will only cost you hundreds to a thousand Elixir (it really is not much), and in return, you will get Clash of Clans free gems. Clearing an obstacle will reward you with anywhere from 0 to 6 gems, giving you an average of around two gems for every obstacle removed.

Three obstacles spawn daily, meaning you can get six gems daily. This may seem like a meager amount, but this excludes the Gem Boxes!

Gem Boxes are a rare obstacle that respawns once a week. Removing a Gem Box will cost you 1,000 Elixir and grant you a fixed amount of 25 gems. You want to clear Gem Boxes as fast as possible so they will respawn next week!

Gem Mines

The second easy method to get free gems is through the Gem Mine. Back then, many players would make memes about Mines and Collectors producing gems. In 2017, Supercell made it a reality and introduced the Gem Mine as a part of the Builder Base. 

By default, the Gem Mine is in destroyed condition in the Builder Base, and you can repair it at Builder Hall Level 3. Like Gold Mines and Elixir Collectors, the Gem Mine will passively produce gems you can claim!

The amount of gems produced per day will increase every time you upgrade the Gem Mine. There are a total of 10 levels, and you can max it out with a Level 10 Builder Hall. At max level, a Gem Mine can produce five gems per day.

Remember that Gem Mines will have a maximum production capacity, so make sure to claim your gems every day to get the maximum production value!

Offer Wall Websites

Unlike the other methods on this list, offer wall websites aren’t actually a part of the Clash of Clans game itself. Offer walls are hidden gems methods which are essentially websites that reward you with real money for doing simple tasks.
