What Is The Best Army In Clash of Clans For Town Hall 7?

Before we talk about the best armies, we’ll quickly remind you that you’ll have access to 200 Troop Capacity, 6 Spell Capacity, and 20 Clan Castle Troop Capacity at Town Hall 7. Make sure your troops are maxed out for the best results!

1 /5

Mass Dragons

The first army we’ll cover is arguably the easiest and most popular attack strategy at Town Hall 7: Mass Dragons. The army is straightforward; you’ll only need one type of troop and three Rage Spells to help you. Your army composition should look like this:

Troop/Spell

Quantity

Dragon

10

Rage Spell

3

OPTIONAL: If you have access to Clan Castle Troops, you should request Balloons to strengthen your army.

Mass Dragons

Dragon Funnel

  1. The good thing about this army is you don’t have to lure the enemy Clan Castle troops, as your Dragons should be able to overwhelm them.

  2. The main idea of the army is to pick one side of the base to attack, preferably a side where two of the three Air Defenses are located.

  3. Once a side has been chosen, you will put one Dragon on one side and your Barbarian King on the other. The purpose of this is to have these troops create a funnel for your main “kill squad” to go to the center of the base.

  4. So, after placing this one Dragon and your Barbarian King, wait a few seconds for them to take out the buildings.

  5. Once the buildings on the side are cleared, deploy the rest of your Dragons in a line.

  6. Your Dragons should be headed toward the center of the base. Make use of your Rage Spells to help your Dragons through.

  7. Ensure you are hitting at least three Dragons with each Rage Spell, and use them when your Dragons are near the Air Defenses.

  8. Alternatively, you can use three Lightning Spells instead of Rage Spells for this army composition.

Dragon Deployment

2 /5

Mass Hog Riders

The next army will require more skill than the Mass Dragons, but mastering this army will benefit you in the long run. We’re going to be playing with another new Dark Elixir troop, Hog Riders. For this army, your army composition should look like this:

Troop/Spell

Quantity

Archer

7

Giant

5

Wall Breaker

3

Balloon

2

Wizard

5

Minion

1

Hog Rider

26

Healing Spell

3

OPTIONAL: If you have access to Clan Castle Troops, you should request Hog Riders to strengthen your army.

Mass Hog Riders

Hog Rider Placement

  1. The first step is to check for the enemy Clan Castle troops using your Giants and taking care of them with your Archers and Wizards, if any.

  2. After taking care of the Clan Castle troops, deploy your remaining Giants, Wizards, Wall Breakers, and Barbarian King on one side of the base.

  3. Once you’ve deployed them, start deploying all your Hog Riders behind them in a straight line.

  4. Your Hog Riders will likely start splitting into two or three groups. Pay attention to which groups have the most Hog Riders and carefully watch them.

  5. You will have to deploy your Healing Spells on Hog Rider groups whenever they get low.

  6. Wizard Towers, Mortars, and, most importantly, Giant Bombs are two defenses you must look out for. These defenses deal splash damage, which is not ideal for groups of Hog Riders.

DragLoon (Dragons + Balloons)

Third, we have a hybrid between Dragons and Balloons, hence the name, DragLoon. The concept of the army is quite similar to the Mass Dragons strategy, but many players prefer this version instead of the original one. For DragLoon, your army composition should look like this:

Troop/Spell

Quantity

Balloon

8

Dragon

8

Rage Spell

3

OPTIONAL: If you have access to Clan Castle Troops, you should request Balloons to strengthen your army.

Funneling

  1. As discussed earlier, when using lots of Dragons, you won’t necessarily have to take care of the enemy Clan Castle troops before your actual attack.

  2. The main idea is to have all your troops attack one side of the base where two of the three Air Defenses are located.

  3. You will use your Barbarian King and one Dragon to create a funnel for the main “kill squad” to have a straight path to the enemy Town Hall.

  4. Once the Funnel has been created, you will deploy your Dragons in a line, along with the eight Balloons.

  5. You want to focus your first Rage Spell on your Balloons to take out an Air Defence.

  6. Then, use your remaining Rage Spells on your Dragons. Try hitting at least three Dragons with each Rage Spell for maximum effectiveness.

Balloonion (Balloons + Minions)

Another popular and straightforward Town Hall 7 attack strategy is the Balloonion. It’s a classic strategy that has been used for many years because of how effective it is. If you want to try out the Balloonion, your army composition should look like this:

Troop/Spell

Quantity

Balloon

30

Minion

15

Dragon

1

Healing Spell

1

Rage Spell

2

OPTIONAL: If you have access to Clan Castle Troops, you should request Balloons to strengthen your army.

Balloonion

Balloonion V Shape

  1. The first step of this army composition is to deploy one or two Balloons to check for the enemy Clan Castle troops. If any, deal with them using your Minions.

  2. Keep in mind if the enemy Clan Castle troops are ground targeted, the Clan Castle won’t be triggered, and you’ll have nothing to worry about since every troop in this army is an air troop.

  3. You’re going to pick one corner of the base, preferably a corner where you can reach two of the three Air Defenses.

  4. Then, start deploying all your Balloons in a “V” shape in the corner of the base.

  5. You will deploy your one Dragon behind your Balloons, but you will save your Minions for later, as they’re just here to clean up the base.

  6. Focus on your Balloons, and buff them with Healing and Rage Spells whenever appropriate. Try to hit as many Balloons with your spells as possible for maximum effect.

  7. Finally, once all the defenses are cleared, Balloons take a very long time to clean up the rest of the base. This is where your Minions will help your Balloons clear the remaining buildings.

GiWiHo (Giants + Wizards + Hogs)

Finally, we will do a little throwback to a Town Hall 6 attack strategy by using a version of the Giant Wizard, but this time, adding Hog Riders into the mix. This army will take you some practice, but it will bring amazing results if mastered. Your army composition should look like this:

Troop/Spell

Quantity

Archer

8

Giant

13

Wall Breaker

5

Balloon

1

Wizard

13

Hog Rider

12

Healing Spell

3

OPTIONAL: If you have access to Clan Castle Troops, you should request Hog Riders to strengthen your army.

GiWiHo

Giant Wizard Kill Squad

  1. Check for Clan Castle troops and use your Archers and Wizards to take care of them, if any.

  2. Once cleared, the first thing you’re going to do is to create a “kill squad” of Giants and Wizards. You will try to get as much done as possible using your Barbarian King, Giants, and Wizards. You will not be using any Heal Spells on them!

  3. Give your Giants and Wizards some time to develop, then deploy all your Hog Riders on a different side of the base. Don’t deploy them in a line. Just deploy them all in one spot.

  4. You will focus all three Healing Spells on these Hog Riders, so watch out for Giant Bombs and splash damage defenses.

  5. Your Hog Riders should all be grouped, so make sure your Healing Spells are healing as many Hogs as possible at once.

  6. Once all the defenses are removed, use your remaining troops to help clean up the base.
