Blaze Through Pyro Enemies Using These 2 Potent Elements

The pyro element is famous for possessing some of the best DPS (Damage Per Second) characters in Genshin Impact. With the elemental reactions vaporize (pyro and hydro reactions) and melt (pyro and cryo reactions), pyro characters are capable of defeating enemies in a matter of seconds.

It is also most likely that when you are checking how to see your highest damage in Genshin Impact, it's most likely from a critical elemental reaction between pyro and cryo or hydro (although mine personally came from one of the hottest characters in the game, Raiden Shogun).

Similarly, you have to watch out if pyro enemies are paired up with either hydro or cryo, or potentially both, as the damage output will be humongous. Ensure that you have the opportunity to provide some method of sustainability in order to survive the battle against these powerful foes:

• Abyss Lector: Fathomless Flames
• Kairagi: Fiery Might
• Pyro Abyss Mage
• Pyro Hypostatis
• Pyro Regisvine
• Consecrated Red Vulture
• La Signora
• Eremite Scorching Loremaster

Hydro

Whenever a fire breaks out of control, firefighters race to the scene with powerful streams of water - so when you see pyro enemies, bring hydro characters!

The pyro shield is extremely weak to hydro elemental damage, so once the elemental shield comes in contact with hydro, the vaporize elemental reactions occur and deplete it considerably. Personally, I believe this corresponding element is also mandatory for multiple enemies mentioned above, like the Abyss Lector: Fathomless Flames and Pyro Hypostasis.

Here are some of my all-time favorite hydro characters to use in Genshin Impact that can help reduce pyro shields while simultaneously drenching enemies with hydro for follow-up hydro and cryo reactions (freeze) or hydro and pyro reactions (vaporize) to annihilate pyro enemies:

• Yelan - extremely capable damage support that has a sub-DPS kit. My favorite character in Genshin Impact, she can be built around any team composition you'd want.
  
  Her elemental burst provides an overflowing amount of hydro-elemental damage. Any active DPS character will also notice that there is a gradual increase in dealing damage within the 15-second period of her elemental burst.
• Sangonomiya Kokomi - One of the two hydro catalyst users, she is a good healer - in my opinion, she is one of the best support characters in Genshin Impact. Hydro-infused normal attacks are a blessing to have against some of the pyro enemies' mechanics.
  
  Kokomi's elemental skill can deal massive damage to pyro shields throughout its existence. Staying close to her jellyfish can also provide a quick burst heal if you are low on health. If you want to keep up the damage, you can transform her into a healing ranged damage dealer by activating her burst (her burst makes her one of Genshin Impact's most fun characters to play as she can walk on water)!

Cryo

Cryo is just a solid form of hydro if you give it some thought. With the melt reaction providing giga damage on pyro enemies (if not shielded), cryo DPS characters have the capability to obliterate pyro enemies, shielded or not.

Dealing cryo damage to pyro elemental shields can deal a good chunk of damage to it. The reason why cryo is also a particularly nice element to have to go against pyro is that hydro is an unmentioned mandatory element to bring. This allows you to pair up your cryo DPS with a hydro character to apply the frozen reaction to pyro enemies once their shield has been removed.

Let me introduce some of the best cryo characters to deal elemental damage to pyro enemies (do keep in mind that having some elemental mastery for melt reactions can considerably increase the reaction's damage):

• Kamisato Ayaka - One of the cryo characters with the most unique yet powerful talent kit, Ayaka can effortlessly infuse cryo into her normal attacks, making her dish out constant cryo elemental attacks on pyro enemies.
  
  She is also a popular pick for a pyro boss fight due to the nature of her elemental burst. When the boss goes into stagger mode, they cannot defend themselves, allowing you to properly set up Ayaka with other support characters to unleash hell on the enemy.
• Ganyu - The GOAT-ed (Greatest Of All Time) Cocogoat unleashes her pseudo-icy domain when she unleashes her elemental burst. Although it does not provide as much numerical damage as Ayaka, she can be played with Ayaka to buff Ayaka's cryo damage.
  
  Ganyu's elemental skill can be used to lure and group pyro enemies together, which therefore synergizes extremely well with Ayaka and her own elemental burst. The true definition of "Ice and Dice"!

Although other elements and free characters can do the job, the characters mentioned above are just superb at what they do. Just remember not to deal pyro damage to a pyro shield as it does absolutely nothing!
