How to Make a Regeneration Potion in Minecraft

If you want to create a potion of regeneration in Minecraft, some items are hard to get. So it's best to brew this potion once you have proper armor and a sword. Well then here are the required items to make a Regeneration potion in Minecraft:

Minecraft Regeneration Potion Items Needed

All of these items are easily obtainable, starting with glass bottles made from glass. Then simply fill them with water. However many potions of Regeneration you want to brew, that's how many glass bottles you'll want to make.

Nether wart is a bit complicated to get since you'll need to head into the Nether by making a portal. Nether wart spawns and is grown in Nether fortresses and bastions.

While you're at the Nether fortress, you'll want to defeat some blazes because they drop blaze rods. Placing some blaze rods on a crafting table will give you blaze powder.

Finally, you'll want to get your hands on a ghast tear, which is dropped by killing ghasts. The ghast mob spawns in the Nether as well. Be careful though, they may be difficult to kill in a place where the ghast tears can drop into lava and be destroyed!

Minecraft How to Get Regeneration Potion Items

Most of these items can be obtained in 1 trip to the Nether, so keep that in mind. Now below you can see the full process behind making a potion of generation in Minecraft!

How to Brew Regeneration Potions in Minecraft

Since making potions is done with a brewing stand, you'll want to first place it down in a good location at your house. Then below you can see a step-by-step guide on how to brew a Minecraft Regeneration potion:

  1. Open the brewing stand by right-clicking it
  2. Place blaze powder in the top left empty box
  3. Place a Nether Wart in the top center empty box
  4. Add a water bottle to the bottom empty box
  5. Wait until an Awkward potion is created
  6. Leave the Awkward potion on the bottom, and add a ghast tear on the top center box
  7. Wait for the process to finish, and you'll get a potion of Regeneration

Now you can add more water bottles to create more Awkward potions resulting in more potions of Regeneration. But this process will only give you a plain normal Regeneration potion. You can upgrade these potions of Regeneration using Glowstone Dust and Redstone.

If you add a Glowstone Dust in the brewing stand at the top center empty box, you will get a potion of Regeneration II. This will make your health regeneration stronger, but it will decrease the time of how much the Regeneration potion will last.

If you add a Redstone in the brewing stand at the top center empty box, your normal Regeneration potion will last longer. This will only change the lasting time of the potion of Regeneration and it won't make it heal much better!

Minecraft How to Make Potion of Regeneration II and Increase Time

One thing to keep in mind here is that you can't upgrade the time of a Regeneration II potion using Redstone. The same goes for a Regeneration potion on which the time was upgraded - you can't use Glowstone Dust to turn it into a Regeneration II version.

How to Make Splash and Lingering Regeneration Potions

There are other versions of the Regeneration potion you can easily make, and those are the Splash potion and Lingering potion of Regeneration. Splash potions can be thrown at mobs or players. Lingering potions leave a trail in which players and mobs will get the health regeneration effect if they enter it.

To create a Splash potion of Regeneration, first start by firing up the brewing stand with some blaze powder. Then add a Regeneration potion in the bottom boxes, and use Gunpowder in the top empty box to create a Splash Regeneration potion.

The Lingering potion of Regeneration is made in the brewing stand as well, so add the blaze powder in the top left box. Then add Splash potions of Regeneration made using gunpowder as we saw above in the bottom. Then, add a Dragon's Breath potion in the top center box and wait until the process is finished.

And that's everything you need to know on how to make a Regeneration potion! Minecraft has many other potions like the Invisibility one, so don't stop at only creating a Regeneration pot to help you in your adventures!
