How to Change Name on Xbox
To be the best player in Overwatch, you first need a cool new name! The steps below are really simple, so lets just get straight to the point!
- Grab your controller and select the Xbox button
- Select "System" and select Xbox profile.
- Select "Name" under customize profile to edit credentials.
From here you will select your current Gamertag in which you will be prompted to change. Reminder, this is not only for Overwatch 2 but your GamerTag in Xbox as a whole. So if you want to keep your Xbox name for all other games, that is not an option.
How to Change Name on PC
Changing your name on PC for Overwatch 2 is as simple as going to Blizzard and changing your specified BattleTag in account settings.
- Go into Battle.net and log in
- Select "Account Details" and scroll down to Battletag
- On the top write you should see an icon of either a pencil or the statement "purchase Battletag change".
From here, you should be able to change your Battletag fairly easily, although keep in mind you can only change your online ID once for free on your Battle.net account. It costs money if you want to change your Battletag more than once.
How to Change Name on PlayStation
Changing to a new username on PlayStation is pretty similar to Xbox, and you will have to change your to your desired name on the PlayStation platform for it to be changed in Overwatch 2.
- Select "Settings" in the main menu on your PlayStation dashboard
- Go from "Users and Accounts" to "Accounts"
- Select "Profile" then proceed to "Edit" current display name.
From here, you can select confirm and you have officially changed your username on PlayStation! You should instantly see a change in your Overwatch 2 profile. You can, however, change your player name as many times as needed!
