10 Best Pokemon Against Electric Type Pokemon [Ranked]

Primal Groudon

Primal Groudon is the best counter to Electric type Pokémon. It's one of the strongest Ground types around, and it has the secondary type of Fire to deal with Grass and Steel dual type Pokemon like Hisuian Electrode or Magnezone.

Primal Groudon is also one of the heaviest Pokemon!

Resistant to five types, including powerful Fairy and Fire type Pokemon, Primal Groudon is an excellent choice in battle against a whole slew of Pokemon, but its Ground type Signature Move Precipice Blades is a super effective move sure to turn out the lights of Electric type Pokemon.

Its brutal base stat total means it's every bit as menacing as its design shows, and it even gets powerful Grass type move Solar Beam to deal with its double weakness to Water type!

A powerful dual type Pokemon, Garchomp's Ground type makes it immune to Electric type attacks. It gets STAB for powerful Ground moves like Earthquake to deal super effective damage to Electric types, and as a pseudo-Legendary Pokemon, has the stats to hit hard.

Garchomp is simply a pleasure to use in battle thanks to its many advantages over other Pokemon.

Krookodile

A strong and cool Pokemon from Pokemon Black and White, Krookodile is a great choice in battle against Electric type Pokemon.

Immune to Electric type moves and Psychic type attacks, Krookodile has a great movepool and the stats to use it effectively.

Krookodile is a super versatile Pokemon with one of the best Abilities in Pokemon and is easily one of the most effective counters to Electric type Pokemon.

With access to Smack Down, Krookodile can even handle part-Flying type Pokémon or Pokémon with Levitate.

Torterra

The final evolution of popular starter Pokemon Turtwig, Torterra's secondary type of Ground type means it's a great choice against Electric type Pokemon.

Torterra has a wide and varied movepool containing moves of many different types, including powerful Ground type attacks that deal double damage to Electric type Pokemon.

Torterra even gets the useful move Smack Down, which can make Flying type Pokemon vulnerable to Ground type attacks - especially useful against strong Flying and Electric type Pokemon like Zapdos and Kilowattrel, or Pokémon with Magnet Rise.

Ursaluna

One of the best bear Pokemon, Ursaluna is also one of the best counters to Electric types. As a Normal type Pokemon it's immune to Ghost type attacks, and as a Ground type Pokemon has immunity to Electric type moves too!

Ursaluna is a powerful Pokemon with a great movepool containing some really good moves.

It takes half damage from Poison and Rock type moves, and has a lot of super effective damage moves against Electric Pokemon - and some of their dual types! It even gets Smack Down to deal with Flying types.

Flygon

Benefiting from a total immunity to Electric type moves, Flygon has a great movepool and can easily exploit the weak points of Electric type Pokemon.

Its Ability Levitate also makes it immune to Ground type moves! Perfect for fighting Sandy Shocks or Alolan Golem!

Camerupt

Camerupt is a good choice to use against Grass, Ice, and Steel dual type Electric Pokemon such as Hisuian Electrode or Arctozolt.

Immune to Electric moves thanks to its Ground type, Camerupt is a Fire type as well, meaning it gets access to a good range of moves for dealing with Electric types.

Camerupt also gets a power up from its Mega Evolution into Mega Camerupt, boosting its Special Attack even higher! A real nightmare for Electric types!

Clodsire

The newest Pokémon on this list, Clodsire evolves from Paldean Wooper and is a Ground and Poison type Pokémon.

It doesn't have the best stats, but its dopey, cute look made it an instant fan favorite and its utility is more than its stats would suggest.

Clodsire can use a wide range of different types of moves meaning it can hit a lot of different Electric Pokémon for super effective damage - and it's resistant to Fairy types like Tapu Koko.
