How Good is Silver Rank in Rocket League? [MMR, Tips, More]

Silver rank in Rocket League is a rank tier filled with players that already know the game's basics, and they start getting a bit more serious. You know, not really newbies, but still have lots to learn.

It's made out of three ranks: Silver I, Silver II, and Silver III.

  • In Silver I, players make a bit more mistakes, as it's right after Bronze III. One of the most common things players do there are things like chasing the ball too much or not taking turns in playing different position.
  • At Silver II, you can already see a difference between Bronze players; you'll already see a bunch of nice meta plays there. However, not all the time; they still have lots to learn.
  • Lastly, Silver III is the top of the Silver rank, just before Gold. However, the skill level is not so much different from Silver II, and getting there is mostly about achieving a win streak and learning some more advanced moves.

Is Silver Rank Good in Rocket League?

So, Silver can be a noticeable step up from the Bronze tier, but still far from the higher ranks like Grand Champion.

Silver ranked players should start learning to play more tactically, focusing on mastering the basics, and beginning to understand the importance of teamwork.

However, the gameplay at this level is often characterized by unprompted mistakes and inconsistency. So yeah, Silver is not considered a high rank, but it still can be a significant milestone for many players.

How To Improve from a Silver Rank in Rocket League

As I've mentioned already, people in Silver can be real tryhards. Therefore, you will need to remeber these things to improve from a Silver rank in Rocket League:

  • Practice, practice, practice. Use training and Rocket League ring workshop maps to improve your skills; however, consistency matters, so try to keep it regular as well.
  • Be a team player. Try to pass more and set up plays for your teammates. We know that you want to be the MVP, everyone wants to be. However, as Rocket League is a team game, don't go "full ego" when playing 2v2 or 3v3 modes.
  • Don't chase the ball too hard. Ball is not a train, and you are not CJ. Go for a more tactical approach! Learn to predict where the ball will go, read the game, and position yourself well.
  • Trust in the basics. Fancy moves are cool, but you are still better at basics. And sure, you might want to risk sometimes, and it will win you a couple of games. But do what you are good at, and go for situations that you actually control.
