Are There Bots In ARK: Survival Evolved? Everything you need to know

For those of you who would like to know if bots are present in ARK: Survival Evolved, we have the answer to that question and many others. So keep scrolling and find out all the details about bots in this game, you'll be surprised about what you'll discover.

Are There Bots In ARK: Survival Evolved?

Yes, there are two types of bots in ARK: Survival Evolved; NPC bots which are used to enhance the solo gameplay experience by making it more "alive," and unauthorized bots, used for cheating or spamming.

However, those NPC bots aren't featured in the game by default, and players need to add a user-created Human NPC's mod in single-player mode. It’s worth mentioning that these bots aren’t present in online modes and that there are only human players there.

These bots are a great addition, and although not really advanced, they will make the map feel less empty. They can be used to guard your land and patrol it, gather the resources, look after your base, or even perform more advanced actions like fishing.

The bots used for automatic actions like AFK fishing or such are much more straightforward and are primarily used by lazy players who want to gather resources without playing the game. While some of these aren't illegal and even meet ARK: Survival Evolved’s EULA, allowing players who use them to avoid getting banned, using the scripted bots is totally unfair and uncool. Any automatic action completely removes the fun from the game, so hopefully, Instinct Games will make those illegal in the future.

Are There Spam Bots In ARK: Survival Evolved?

Unfortunately, there are spam bots featured in ARK: Survival Evolved from time to time. These bots will usually spam global chat with automatic messages, which can become quite annoying, especially if they last for hours. Most of the time, these spam bots appear on servers without any moderation where they are free to do whatever they want. Since each server is unique, finding a reputable one with moderators should be a priority if you'd like to enjoy playing without being harrassed by spammers. Or you can host a server and be your own boss.

Do Bots Make Or Break The ARK: Survival Evolved Experience?

Frankly, they can do both or neither for ARK: Survival Evolved, depending on the point of view. This is because human NPC bots aren't that intelligent like bots present in some other games, and automated bots don't really affect the game for all the players on the server that much.

Auto-fishing bots.

It's not like those "unfair" bots can be used to go through the solid objects or something; it's all about the automated tasks which make certain players gain an advantage over others. So in the case of this game, there's no precise answer about whether bots can make or break the entire experience, and it's distinct for every single player.

But if you decide to host your own Ark: Survival Evolved server (DatHost), you can decide for yourself whether bots enhance or harm your experience, and decide for yourself how many do you want in your games.
