Best Call of Duty Zombies Guns of All Time
Not many guns in zombies have the stopping power to get people to high rounds, but there are still a few powerful ones worth mentioning.
Call of Duty Zombies is one of the greatest game modes out there right now. Although it has fallen off a bit in recent years, people still willingly choose to revisit Zombies in the older games to have fun with their beloved wonder weapon. Not only did it deliver something unique, but it also spawned an entire COD subcommunity, and that’s definitely something to praise.
Some form of Zombies has now been in nearly every COD, and there are so many Call of Duy Zombies wonder weapons that one can acquire in these games. Today we’ll cover the absolute best guns in Call of Duty Zombies as a whole, no matter which title it’s located in - if it's legendary and popular, it will most likely make this list.
Where do we even start with this one? Call of Duty Zombies Wonder Weapons have been with us from the start, and it could be said that it carried zombie survival games into a new era when it comes to gun variety. However, the Ray Gun is the first of its kind, and appeared in Call of Duty: World at War, but it wouldn’t really see widespread fame until Call of Duty: Black Ops and Kino Der Toten. As of now, the Ray Gun has appeared in nearly every Treyarch Call of Duty, including their latest installment: Black Ops Cold War.
It may seem boring when compared to another modern-day wonder weapon, but it still should be cherished just as much as the rest. The Ray Gun is beyond legendary in every aspect.
This wonder weapon is a bit different from the Ray Gun, but it was still released alongside it in World at War. Both the Ray Gun and Wunderwaffe quickly found fame as two very strong guns, and have been reworked for nearly every other future Treyarch game. The Wunderwaffe appeared in many maps, and nearly always serves players as a high-round one-hit kill machine. Additionally, you could put it in the pack-a-punch machine and make it even more lethal than it already is.
Sadly, it didn’t make it into any Black ops Cold War maps, so the only way for you to get this is to play World At War and Black Ops 1 or 3. It’s as memorable as it is powerful, so be sure to fish it out of the mystery box when you’re playing maps like Shi No Numa and Der Riese.
With Kino Der Toten came a lot of newfound popularity for the Call of Duty Black Ops Zombies mode, and as a result of that, many people fell in love with the almighty Thunder Gun. It shoots out a lethal burst of compressed air, shattering everything in its way. It stays useful throughout the entire match, even during higher rounds, and can be pack-a-punched for even greater potency.
This wonder weapon made up a large part of many people’s childhoods, and many other renditions came to light as a result of its past reverence. It managed to make a return in Black Ops 3, but it was kept identical to its Black Ops counterpart.
The many shenanigans and glitches that came to life just because of this wonder weapon were iconic to say the least. The Paralyzer only appears in Call of Duty Black Ops II Buried, and basically lets you hover in the air as long as you aim and shoot it at your feet. To be honest, it does have a very lethal side, but the community mainly uses it to reach spots that you naturally couldn’t.
Veteran players that replay Buried make it their main goal to get this from the mystery box. It serves many purposes besides just hovering and has infinite ammo. And lastly, If you want to complete the Buried easter egg, you’ll definitely need this wonder weapon. There’s nothing like paralyzing a filthy horde of the undead.
The Blundergat wonder weapon is the definition of unadulterated power. It can blow the head off of any being living or dead, and simply looks like something you’d want to hold at least once in your life. It was introduced in Call of Duty Black Ops 2 Zombies as part of the ‘Mob of the Dead’ map. It is pack-a-punchable, and you practically need it to reach high rounds.
It made a return in the fourth installment of Black Ops, but the original version is still one of the most renowned weapons in all of zombies history. Nothing can even begin to replicate the unique vibe that this weapon exudes, and we bet you’ll have fun clearing the hallways of Alcatraz with this deathbringer in your hands.
Zombies has a lot of other weapons that people would consider bonkers, and the Apothicon Servant is, without a doubt, one of those types of weapons. It was first seen in Call of Duty Black Ops 3’s first Zombies map, and people instantly loved it. Releasing one shot of this creation can cripple a big horde, so people always carried it with them if they could find it.
It would see light again during the last map of the main DLC storyline, that’s when it proved itself as maybe the best wonder weapon in Black Ops 3. Who wouldn’t want a weapon that shoots out a black hole with immense suction? Suffice to say, you won’t have problems farming zombies with the Apothicon Servant.
Staff of Ice
Black Ops 2 Zombies is responsible for making a lot of memorable wonder weapons, and some of those are the Staffs that you can craft on the ‘Origins’ map. However, when compared to the other Staffs, the Staff of Ice seems to be the objectively better choice, in nearly every way. A large majority of the community stands by the fact that it’s much better for higher rounds due to the fact that it slows zombies. Not to mention the fact that it’s easier to upgrade.
Sally & Mustang
The Sally and Mustang combo may not be a wonder weapon or even assault rifle, but they are hands down the most legendary and memorable pistols in Black Ops zombies as a whole. We know that regular weapons aren’t meant for a list like this, but we thought that we’d include it anyway because of how iconic it is. After you pick it up from the pack-a-punch machine, the stats of the weapon are superb, the only real downside is its ammo consumption.
Another great thing about this duo is that you can use them for efficient horde-clearing. Especially if you’re downed and you need to make way for your friends to revive you. Not many weapons can lend you such a forgiving hand.
The Wave Gun is one of the more underrated zombies weapons that appear in Call of Duty: Black Ops. It’s another one of those guns that are great for farming, as you can easily kill groups of the undead with one shot. You can choose to either dual-wield it or transform it into a full gun, and we recommend the latter option. Sadly, this weapon did not appear in any other Call of Duty titles.
Ray Gun Mark II
There’s much to be said about the Ray Gun’s successor. It is somewhat similar to the original Ray Gun, yet it improves upon a few things such as accuracy, penetration, and headshot damage. But, all of these improvements come at the cost of the Ray Gun’s signature feature: splash damage. Regardless, we believe that it comes down to personal choice. Both have their weak and strong points that suit players with different playstyles.
With that being said, the Ray Gun Mark II’s design is objectively better, and it’s definitely a step up from the original Ray Gun design. Still, that matters little to people who value a gun’s status and history over something trivial like design.
All in all, there’s much to be proud of if you’re a member of the Call of Duty Zombies community. The weapons on this list have a lot of history, and continue to be immortalized by millions of people worldwide. If that doesn’t count for something, then nothing will.
