How to improve your FPS in Apex Legends in a few clicks [Solved]

Display Mode

Full Screen.

By far the best display mode when it comes to system performance. Use Borderless Window only if you have two monitors, and you must navigate between them as many streamers do. But if it's not your case, go for the Full-Screen resolution. It's the best of all the settings.

Aspect Ratio

Native.

This setting isn't relevant and cannot boost FPS. We recommend you just avoid this option as a whole.

Resolution

Native.

Keep it at the native monitor resolution. In most cases, that's 1920x1080. It's the standard full HD 1080p. There's no point in going above your monitor's native resolution. If you set it below that, the visual fidelity of your gameplay will be unbearable.

Field of View (FOV)

10.

If you increase this number, you will also increase the amount of information your computer has to render. But in a competitive game like Apex Legends, being to see more is a huge advantage. If your FPS cap is still low, you can decrease your FOV to 95, but we don't recommend you go below that threshold.

FOV Ability Scaling

Disabled.

This option has no effect on increasing your FPS cap. You can just set it as disabled and move on.

Sprint View Shake

Minimal.

You don't want your screen shaking at any moment during your gameplay. It's great for immersion but annoying when pursuing an enemy on the map.

V-Sync

Disabled.

Vertical Sync controls the trade-off between screen tearing and the time it takes for your actions to appear on screen, also called input lag. Turning it off will increase tearing but reduce the input lag while setting Double Buffered will eliminate tearing but increase input lag. In a competitive shooter, it's always preferred to minimize the input lag as much as possible.

NVIDIA Reflex

Enabled + Boost.

This option increases your PC's responsiveness by reducing the system latency. It also does this without hitting your framerate performance.

Adaptive Resolution FPS Target

0.

This option dynamically lowers rendering resolution trying to maintain a specified framerate. Setting it to 0 eliminates the FPS cap, making the game run at the maximum FPS possible.

Anti-aliasing

None.

This option is good for defining lines, smoothing the image, and minimizing visual distortions. But it also increases GPU load, so just turn it off.

Texture Streaming Budget

Low.

This option controls the amount of memory reserved for texture streaming. It`s the option that brings more visual fidelity but the more costly. At Low, you will have a good-looking game running at high performance. You can change for Very Low if you are dealing with FPS drops during your matches.

Texture Filtering

Bilinear.

This setting controls the sharpness of surface details but also consumes a good amount of GPU load. Set at the lowest texture filtering possible.

Ambient Occlusion Quality

Disabled.

Ambient occlusion is like a soft version of shadow quality, so just turn it off for better gaming performance.

Sun Shadow Coverage

Low.

This option allows the system to control the coverage of shadows from the sun. But it also consumes a good amount of GPU, so always choose a low sun shadow detail to have a performance boost.

Sun Shadow Detail

This option controls how detailed shadows are from the sun.

Spot Shadow Detail

This setting controls how detailed shadows are from lights in the environment. Keep this option at low spot shadow detail for better gaming performance.

Volumetric Lighting

This option controls whether sunbeams are enabled to simulate light scattering in the air.

Dynamic Spot Shadows

This setting allows the system to control the movement of the lights in the environment. It's always better to opt for disabled dynamic spot shadows if your intention is purely game performance.

Model Detail

Low.

This setting allows the system to control the number of details in objects like guns or items and character models. It's always better to keep this option as low as possible for having an Apex Legends FPS boost.

Effects Detail

Low.

This option controls how detailed are the visual effects like grenade explosions and the character's active skills.

Impact Marks

Disabled.

This option just causes visual pollution and tarnishes your gameplay experience.

Ragdolls
