The 5 Best Legends for Beginners in Apex Legends

1 /5

Bloodhound

Bloodhound is the first legend I ever played in Apex Legends. Truth be told, it was he who made me fall in love with the game.

Bloodhound

The reason I picked Bloodhound first was because I thought he looked cool. And that's with just regular skin. If I'd known some of the best Bloodhound skins back then I would have been drooling on my keyboard. Enough about me, let's talk about Bloodhound's abilities.

Bloodhound's passive ability (Tracker) is really nifty. In essence, it reveals enemy movements. I.e. it allows you to see where the enemies have been by outlining their tracks on the ground. But not only that, it also shows you how long ago they passed through that area. Seeing enemy footprints is really useful for gauging where enemies have been.

Bloodhound Tactical

Bloodhound's tactical ability (Eye of the Allfather) lets you scan a large area around Bloodhound, revealing enemy locations wherever they may be. This ability is the reason why Bloodhound is often regarded as the best Recon Legend in the game. The situational awareness you get is just nuts!

Bloodhound Ulti

Bloodhound's Ultimate ability is called "Beast of the Hunt." The name isn't an over-exaggeration folks, it really does turn you into a beast. Not only does it increase your movement speed, but it highlights enemies as well.

And if you have Bloodhound's heirloom, which I personally think is one of the best heirlooms in Apex Legends, you become a character right out of a slasher movie. There's something about chasing your enemies down with a hatchet that's so exhilarating.

Lifeline

However, if you prefer a more chill approach when playing Apex Legends, then Lifeline might be one of the best beginner Legends for you. Plus, she's probably the most wholesome Apex Legends character lore-wise.

Lifeline

Even though Lifeline is an all-around excellent legend, she tends to get overlooked by the community. A real shame, since I consider her to be one of the best Legends in Apex Legends. And here's why.

Her passive (Combat Revive) is exactly why I believe Lifeline's the best legend ever (sorry Revenant, my beloved). In essence, Lifeline's passive ability allows her to revive teammates without having to spend the time to do so. She can just drop her bot and it does the work for her. An extremely useful ability to have if you want to keep your team alive.

Lifeline Tactical

Lifeline's tactical ability (D.O.C Heal Drone) is likewise incredibly useful. By dropping her bot, Lifeline can effectively create a mobile healing station, removing the need to hoard medkits. If you want to increase the longevity of your entire squad - spam this ability as much as possible.

Lifeline Ulti

Finally, we come to Lifeline's ultimate ability - Care Package. It's just as the name suggests, whenever you activate it, a care package drops from the sky. This drop pod contains a slew of useful upgrades, from armor to weapons, to consumables. That is why I consider her to be one of the best characters in the game.

Bangalore

Bangalore is a Legend that I needed a lot of time to start liking. But, after getting to know her ins and outs, I can honestly say that she's one of the better Legends in the game.

Bangalore

Additionally, I've found that she's one of the best Legends for beginners. The only downside to Bangalore is that most of her skins are mid. Just take a look at the best Bangalore skins in Apex Legends and everything will become apparent.

Bangalore's Passive ability is called Double Time. I can honestly say that this ability has saved my hide an innumerous amount of times. In essence, whenever you get shot you get a temporary movement speed boost. The reason this ability is so great is because it makes you a lot harder to hit, as it makes your movement unpredictable.

Bangalore Tactical

Bangalore's Tactical Ability is called Smoke Launcher. It's pretty self-explanatory. Whenever you activate it, Bangalore sends out a smoke grenade at the target area. This one ability is the reason why Bangalore is such a good starter Legend. Not only does it allow you to play defensively, but also offensively if the need be.

Bangalore Ulti

And now, for the grand finale - Rolling Thunder! This ability will make the enemy squad on the receiving end hate your guts. Essentially, Rolling Thunder is an artillery strike that covers a large area. Any enemies unfortunate enough to get caught in the blast take a load of damage and get disoriented for a while. Extremely useful in ranked play particularly.

Octane

Octane is an interesting one. I once saw a teammate score 18 kills while playing with Octane.

Octane

It isn't the most kills in a game of Apex Legends, but it sure is an impressive feat nonetheless. After that experience, I knew I had to try out Octane. Turns out, he's super fun to play. And definitely one of the best Legends for beginners.

Octane's passive (Swift Mend) is definitely one of the more unique abilities. In essence, it allows him to regenerate a portion of his health every few seconds. No other legends have anything that even comes close to this. Sadly, it doesn't heal teammates. Ahh well, you can have everything I guess.

Octane Tactical

Octane's tactical ability (Stim) makes him move 30% faster but at the cost of his health points. This is the main reason why his passive is what it is. Oh, and don't worry, you can't kill yourself with this ability. Trust me, I've tried.

Octane Ulti

Finally, we come to the most entertaining ultimate ability in the game, Octane's Jump Pad. The reason I love the launch pad is because it's useful in almost every situation you can think of. None of the other characters have an ability that even comes close in utility. Plus, it helps you reach the high ground. Which is a good place to be... At least according to Obi-Wan Kenobi.

5 /5

Caustic

In my opinion, Caustic is one of the few Legends I'd consider S tier, regardless if you're playing at a lower level or at a competitive level.

Caustic

If you're wondering who to unlock first in Apex Legends - get Caustic. You'll thank me later. Not only will you be getting a Controller, but what could quite possibly be the best Controller in the game. Here's why.

Caustic's passive (Nox Vision) isn't that impressive comparatively. The only thing it does is allow him to see nearby enemies engulfed by his gas. However, it becomes really useful when combined with...

Caustic Tactical

Caustic's tactical ability (Nox Gas Trap) allows him to place down noxious gas canisters all over the map. This ability makes him a defensive Legend and an offensive Legend at the same time. This is what makes Caustic such a good Legend at any skill level. It practically corrals the enemy's entire team.

Caustic Ultimate

As far as ultimate abilities are concerned, this one is unimpressive. Nox Gas Grenade is just as the name implies, a grenade filled with noxious gas. Great for blanketing an area with impenetrable smoke, but other than that, it's highly unimpressive.
