Method #1: Nvidia GeForce Experience

Our first choice for this article is GeForce Experience, which you'll learn how to use if you follow our short guide below:

3

  1. Download the current version of GeForce Experience from the official Nvidia website.
  2. Click on the settings cog icon left of your username, found in the upper right corner.
  3. Next, enable the "In-game overlay" function by clicking the button.
  4. Lastly, select "Settings" under the "In-game overlay" panel.

4

You'll now have an option to modify anything from the default video storage folder to audio and video options. Still, this program has already done that for you, so you can just start using it right away.

Once you wish to start recording War Thunder using the GeForce Experience, press Alt + F9 to start recording videos or press Alt + F9 to start recording clips, and you'll find them stored in the C:\Users\<Username>\Videos folder.

Method #2: Radeon ReLive

To record War Thunder using our second choice, Radeon ReLive, follow these steps shown below:

5

  1. Visit the official website of AMD to download the latest version of Radeon Software Crimson ReLive Edition, then restart your PC after installing the program.
  2. Click on the ReLive tab in the AMD Radeon Settings.
  3. Enable the ReLive function by clicking the button.

6

If you took our advice and restarted the PC earlier, you won't need to adjust anything in the settings menu. Otherwise, you'll be able to change even more advanced settings than those available in GeForce Experience. There are even some interesting options that can't be found anywhere but in Radeon ReLive, such as "Instant Gif," "Instant Replay," and "In-game Replay," so make sure to enable them if you want to capture War Thunder clips and gifs easily.

Then, once you're ready to begin recording War Thunder gameplay, press Ctrl + Shift + R while in the game, and you'll find those videos and clips in the C:\Users\<Username>\Videos\Radeon ReLive folder.

Method #3: Open Broadcaster Software

OBS is our third and final method for this article, and this is how you can use it:

7

  1. From the official website of OBS, download the latest version of the program, and you'll receive the auto-configuration wizard prompt after running it for the first time.
  2. Then, once you're in the main menu, select the + icon under the "Sources" panel.
  3. Lastly, select the "Game Capture" option, write anything into the field, and confirm it.

8

In case you skipped the auto-configuration wizard, click on the "File" in the upper left corner and select "Settings," where you'll be able to modify all sorts of basic and advanced options.

We strongly suggest you configure the keyboard hotkey unless you want to Alt + Tab each time you want to record the War Thunder gameplay.

While in the game, press down the previously configured keyboard hotkey or click on "Start Recording" from the OBS menu to begin capturing the gameplay.

You'll find these War Thunder clips and videos in the C:\Users\<Username>\Videos folder.
